Alpha Conference

Cherry Valley Wizards 7 Rotterdam Harbourmasters 86
In a week full of lopsided victories, none were more so than this one. 30 first quarter points for the Harbourmasters meant this one was over before it ever really began. The score was 79-0 before the Wizards got on the board. The defense helped start things off with a safety and this interception return for a touchdown by Urchances Arentgood in the first period.

West Yorkshire Bling 3 Massillon Grizzlies 23
The Grizzlies' defense held firm while their running game did the rest. Knight and Capone both went for over 100 yards and a touchdown. This 14 yard run by Capone in the fourth quarter shut the door on any Bling comeback hopes.

Zurich Gnomes 20 Paris Penguins 7
Zurich got it done on the ground this week, eclipsing 300 yards rushing as a team. John Carman ran for 181 yards and 2 first quarter touchdowns that gave the Gnomes a lead they'd never relinquish. This 55 yard run made the score 14-0 with 6 minutes still to play in the first.

Scotland Celtics 24 Tilburg Fighters 7
Scotland carried a 17 point lead into the fourth quarter thanks in large part to their defense. This interception by Jamarcus Jameels in the third quarter led to McSheffrey's second touchdown of the day.

Whitechapel Rippers 24 Judah Lions 3
Whitechapel didn't eclipse 50 points this week, but they defeated yet another quality team in the Lions. McSpeed and Poulakis combined for 179 yards and a touchdown. Besides clearing a path for his two tailbacks, fullback Phillip "The Gas" Tank broke 3 tackles and barreled his own way into the endzone on this play in the third quarter.

Madrid Hares 31 Barcelona Bulls 26
A shootout in this intranational rivalry between Barcelona and Madrid. It wasn't long before it was evident that the team that had the ball last was likely to win this one. That team turned out to be Madrid. Hares' quarterback Czar Lazar led a quick scoring drive, spanning 10 plays in 1:14. He capped it off finding Penn E. Tration in the back of the endzone, giving Madrid the victory.

Liverpool Scousers 30 Berlin Blitzkrieg 0
A staunch defensive effort and an efficient offense gave the Scousers another impressive victory. That's 3 straight for the 8-2 club and has them poised for a high playoff seed. The Scousers' two quarterback system proved to be effective once again with the pair completing more than 60% of their passes. Liverpool corner Arf Alicious intercepted the pass here in the second quarter, setting up the first Scouser touchdown.

Amsterdam Fire 26 Ljublana Chamois Scabs 3
Ljublana found no room against the Amsterdam defense, netting only 14 yards on the ground. Defense was the story of the game for the Fire. Free safety The Count finished the day with 5 tackles and this interception in the early minutes of the second half.

Zeta Conference

Italian Stallions 73 Gibraltar Wild Monkeys 3
Another smothering effort by the Stallions' defense results in another lop-sided score. Gibraltar did manage to get on the board with a FG in the closing minutes of the first half, but it was hardly enough as the Stallions wore them down in the second half. Private Pyle went into the locker room with 227 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns. His backfield mate, Tony Soprano, added another 207 yards and 2 scores of his own. This 75 yard scramble by Soprano was one of 5 fourth quarter touchdowns.

Rome Bulls 23 Rockaway Knights 36
The Zeta conference had their own shootout when the Knights visited Rome today. With decidedly less drama than the Spanish matchup, the Bulls did get within 10 on this touchdown pass from West to Wagner in the fourth quarter. However, they couldn't manage to get any closer before this one was in the books.

Copenhagen Razorbacks 0 Eindhoven Breakers 41
After a sloppy first quarter, Eindhoven broke it open in the second quarter with 13 points. The Breakers kept it rolling in the second half, starting it off with a 6 play drive finished off by an impressive 3rd down run by Mark Tread, and notched their third victory of the season.

Ironton Tanks 65 Downey Vikings 0
It was clear early on that the Vikings were severely outmatched by the Tanks. Held to under 100 yards rushing, the Vikings gave up a devilish 666 yards of total offense to Ironton. Defensive tackle J.J. Adams was nearly unblockable most the day and came away with 7 tackles, 1 hurry, 2 TFLs, and 2 sacks. Ironton already led by 31 when Adams got his first sack of the game here.

Chelsea Cardinals 82 Liege Red Roosters 6
A balanced Chelsea attack led to the blowout victory and 11 offensive touchdowns. Halfback Mario Curry was all over the place, finishing with 99 rushing yards, 29 receiving yards, and 2 rushing touchdowns. He even added another touchdown on special teams, returning this first quarter punt 93 yards.

Brighton Bears 28 Camelot Kings 16
Camelot came up short on their trip to Brighton in what could be a preview of playoff matchup at the end of the season. Both teams came in red hot, but it's the Bears that came away with their fourth straight victory. The Bears defense held the Pikes to 162 yards, well below their season average and did most their damage through the air. Flex EZ completed 30 of his 44 passes for 322 yards and 4 touchdowns. EZ hit McPherson in the back of the endzone in the second quarter, giving the Bears a 17 point first half lead, a lead that the Kings couldn't overcome.

Helsinki Hammers 55 Munich Maulers 3
It wasn't so shocking that the Hammers won today, but perhaps the way they did it was, by torching the Maulers for 55 points while holding their offense to 81 yards of total offense. The three halfbacks for the Maulers combined for 51 carries, 286 yards, and 6 touchdowns. Receiver Lorax Once-Ler had four catches, two of which went for scores including this 36 yard gainer in the fourth quarter.

Bay Area Invaders 0 Hamburg Parrots 31
Hamburg visited the Bay Area and showcased what appears to be a quickly improving offensive attack. A combination of efficient passing (171 yards, 71% completion rate, 0 INTs) and effective running went along with a stifling effort by the Parrot defense to give Hamburg their third win of the season. For the Parrots, Barlow and Johnson ran the ball 52 times for 275 yards. Barlow takes this pitch to the endzone for his third and final touchdown of the day.
