a defender that gets faked, is he only able to be faked by the dot he is covering, or is it the closest defender to the faking offensive dot.
example. CB1 covering WR1 (with fake abilities)... CB3 covering WR3 (no fake abilities). WR1 and WR3 cross paths. WR1's juke fires, blinking CB3. Is it the dot in closes proximity to the faking offensive dot?
Man defenders cannot get faked by a guy they are not covering. Zone defenders can be faked when in proximity. Recall also, that it doesn't require having juke or head fake or any SA to fake on a route. A good enough cut can cause a fake regardless of any special abilities.

Not having anyone near them is really the only thing that will help prevent them from falling down. It's how the interceptions are coded into the game (to limit the potential for too many pick 6's as discussed earlier in this thread).

Just like you can break a tackle without an SA, you can fake a player without an SA in certain situations. It's not activating an SA you don't have; it's just an inherent ability of all players.

Would you say that players generally make a tackling attempt as soon as they get into the tackling radius? Or is it randomized to a certain extent? And in that same question does the chance to succeed the tackle roll increase the closer to the player they are trying to tackle that they get before attempting the roll?
They always try as soon as they are in range. The chance is the same once they are within the tackle radius.
You may not intend for that to happen, but it's definitely happening. I just assumed you meant for it to.
Might just be coincidental though (defender getting faked by a cut by the man they are covering). Hard to tell without looking at a lot of replays. gboro posted the one but I haven't seen a bunch of them. If you have more, please send them to gboro and he'll add them to the bug ticket.
Originally posted by gbororats 100% agree, thats why i asked the question. If i compile enough data and report on it as a bugs mod, will it get a look, or would i be wasting time?

Ok, I just watched the replay, and I can't say for sure without trace data from a test server run. I even just looked and the code definitely skips over man defenders who are not your own when seeing if you can juke. Maybe he was actually in zone on that play? Like I said I can't be sure without test data.
