Is this special ability worth it for a blitzer? I rolled an equipment piece with +2 agility and 5% avoid fake chance. Should I get it?

No, def not . Blitzers want to ideally focus on break block%, make tackle% and if u utilize Big Sack then Force fumble% as well.

not for a blitzer. and you generally want to avoid +2 pieces.
This is mostly true but even more true is not accepting a piece which doesn't address your primary skill AS WELL AS only being a +2. If I'd rolled a sh*t ton of times and was getting desperate, I'd accept a +2 to my PRIMARY skill only if it came with an appropriate 5% bonus (or high quality SA bonus)... but it would HAVE to be +2 to my dot's primary. It's a last-ditch desperate measure to be used only when you feel you've nothing more to gain by continuously rolling crap.

Follow-up question: I rolled a Make Tackle 5% piece. If I purchase it for the 18 BT, can I add the +3 Speed to it? With +3 speed costing 50 BT, should I press my luck or be happy with the 60 BT savings?

You can most definitely add the +3 speed for 50 bonus tokens. That's a very good roll and you should buy immediately. Same goes for plain +3 attribute pieces, you can always add on the % pieces to those too, although they cost a bit more.
