Yup. I was so wrong. I was sure that condensed Pro would let to better promotees thanks to a more challenging Pro regular season. It is more challenging and it's harder to make the playoffs, but the promotees are shittier than ever. Oh, and I'm a terrible DC now.

ya, alpha isn't really that much better. Looking at it really though it just seems to be teams at the bottom can't figure out the running game worth their life.

it does at least give more teams a chance to play in WL which can only help them become better teams in the long run. and the best teams are all still here giving free lessons.

I think that's an indication of the stronger WL teams just getting stronger/more in tune....lot of repeat gold winners tells me it's less about the ones that cant compete sucking, and more about the ones at the top just being that good. It's still a decent feat to get to WL, but most new teams, especially the ones that have never been here before are just out-classed

No, because if that was the case then you'd only see a few teams dominating. The problem is that the bottom third of the WL is truly dreadful.

The vast majority of the Golds the last 10 seasons have been repeat coordinators no?

Not sure if Gold's are relevant in this discussion as the Gold's have come from top to bottom on the seeding. But the playoff teams/coordinators have been a stiff group that is hard for any new team to step into. There have been few new teams coming up the ranks that have been able to make a dent in the playoffs to my recollection (Vancouver and Asau). The bottom 3rd's of the league have been pretty awful over the last several seasons.

Honestly though things really didn't get all that much better from reducing the pro leagues to hemispheres. Teams still walk right through pro and what is worse is that some sneak up into WL because they catch a nice side of the pro bracket and only have to win 2 games. In the meantime you have just sent a bunch of level 79 pro teams into regional pro where they continue the same structure that was National Pro.

It might just be that we still have too many leagues. There also just aren't that many teams that can compete at the level that the top pro teams do. You can go through any league from WL on down to reg pro and find teams that arguably just don't deserve to be in that league. It would be nice if we could condense the pro leagues even further in order to cascade teams down into leagues where they could be more competitive (and make those leagues, in turn, more competitive), but with the 8 up/8 down approach to WL promotion, there would still be problems with teams making it into WL that won't be competitive up there.

The problem is that there are only so many top coordinators in this game and the rest of us are just pretending.

I dunno...you keep dwindling it down and the barrier gets pretty huge to the point where it is near impossible feat for any newer coordinators to get this far and learn anything. Especially with so many network teams around at the highest level. I just find it funny that we did this to cause more competition and UFC is sitting in South America have had 3 competitive games (1 being a depth chart malfunction) and maybe might have 2 more this season before the playoffs. Will probably make WL again despite being in decline.
