Quick Cut or First Step as a choice for my special ability?
Not sure if you want either one. Quick Cut helps speedy guys turn without losing speed... and First Step helps you get up to speed quicker.
Now, if you're building a Guard that is going to be pulling on screens and pitch plays, I'd go with First step.
If you're cost conscious, then you should be thinking Balance or Pummel. I prefer Pummel myself. Both of those SA's will cost you 75 BT's to purchase later whether or not you get them for AEQ or just want to add them to your SA tree.
Are you considering this as the SA add you get when you start a dot or is this a AEQ question? That helps in making a better answer.

Either, but I'd prefer First Step as it helps fire off the line of scrimmage as well as pulling on pitches and screens.
