If you set the receiver you want as the second progression the QB will fixate on the first progression and stay with him come hell or highwater and either get sacked or throw into coverage. When you adjust and move the receiver you want to the first progression the QB will just pass him by in the blink of an eye and go to the other progressions. We spent much time and effort adjusting player tactics and nothing helped.

Game planned extensively for each playoff opponent and set up packages especially for them. Didn't make much (if any difference). There comes a point when you've done all you can do and have to come to the realization it's nothing that can be fixed from your end.

Just not worth the effort at rookie level to mess with progressions. Dots leveling so fast and capabilities changing, you have to change them every two games.

Actually rookie is the best time to pass since rookie has a strong passing buff.

I'm mostly talking about mid-level passing when the passing buff is almost over. It's not a matter of keeping up with progressions. It's a matter of inconsistency with QB reads. Too many people at our level (reg minors) think completing 70% with 12-15 completions for 50-75 yards by running a bunch of screens and completing 4 or 5 "legit" passes is a solid passing game.

I seldom run screens, maybe 6 or 7 a season, but a full time passing offense and 55% usually equals a win.

If you're talking about your prep team then you and I are talking about two different things. I've already stated that passing really doesn't turn to shit until later on in the prep season. Around university is when everything just gets really terrible.

55% passing in the mid-levels means you either run a considerable amount of screens for minimal gains/losses or you're playing an inferior defense/opponent.

thread has taken some (although interesting) detours, but still waiting for an admin answer to original question. would be nice to know if they care to clarify the issue.

Yeah, but it diminishes the higher you get so the mid levels are pretty terrible since the buff is less effective and the QBs build isn't finished.
