We won't be seeing any big changes to player build structure, so what you got now is what you got. Also, the current mechanics are balanced around what we've got, with VA's and SA's and all that stuff mixed in, so exact number vs number comparison doesn't really apply so much.

It's two fold.

1) The lack of new users the game has brought in the past couple years.

2) The learning curve/complexity of the game.

Possibly but when you have #2 (complex game) it makes it hard to achieve #1 (new users). There needs to be a better balance. The game as it is currently is too overwhelming for most.

That's kind of a tough question to answer quickly in a random Q/A. There's plenty of things I would like to do or change that just aren't feasible in the current structure or design choices, but that's the nature of it. Lots of suggestions that are basically "change the entire way the game works" etc. We are applying all the things we've learned over the years about the source of problems, etc. as we move forward with future projects, though.

Not with the current set up, no. Would probably require revisiting and rewriting the replay system.

Probably not without completely redoing the game, which at this stage isn't something we're looking at doing. All we can do is bring users in and do our best to educate them on how to play the current version of the game.

Are the bonuses only active if QB throws the ball with ! icon active or is it for the duration of the play as long as it's a pass less than 7 yards?

Sometimes I'll notice the icon just flicker on for a second. If the pass is not released at this time do the bonuses not apply?


If the QB has the ! at the beginning of the play (first frame) the bonuses can be activated.

Wow, I should update that. The top 3 have been done for a long time, and the flash replay updates kinda got abandoned.

I've thought about writing a user guide before (and had even laid the ground work before but become the game was changing so much so often, I nixed it) but it's a pretty large project and with the other projects we're working on, not one I can devote a lot of time to.

This is admittedly different when a game is essentially purely PvP based like GLB, but still.

Ah, yeah I forgot we already had YAC attack. What I meant is it could just be an automatic addition to break tackle scores X ticks after the catch, on top of whatever they currently get get. That's how the fake bonus works. I'll have to talk with Catch to see if that's something we want to update at all.

Sure there are things we could do to help remedy the problem - would be somewhat a waste of time though unless we are actively trying to get in new users which isn't happening at this current time. Maybe something we can look at when we start doing the things Bort mentioned in a previous answer in terms of bringing in new users.
