IMO its mostly about the ability of the WR to cut after the catch... those plays as drawn have a route moving inward, and then after the catch they try to move upfield but their momentum carries them further toward the center than ideal.
doesn't happen on other screens (HB, FB, TE and a few WR screens) where the initial path/route is outbound
that said, some WR screens work just fine as long as there is someone at the end of the OL to block--if they're held up by a defender then its trouble.I would think 90 agility and quick cut would keep him from acting like a dumb ass and running into the Dline versus going forward where he has 4 blockers to 2 defenders
