I honestly dont understand how you can stay interested when the team is losing badly each game. GBR is just not at the level to compete in the Pros at this point (do you disagree?). Yes, technically you earned the right to be here by default, but to be reasonable you are only delaying the inevitable by staying in the Pros.
As of now there is little to no doubt that the Longhorns will be relegated, so that leaves a mini battle between GBR, Astronauts, and Pirates to avoid that last relegation spot. Provided there are no more guttings, that gives you one more season at best before an eventual relegation (seriously doubt only one more opportunity at off season recruiting competing against more popular leagues for the top players will be fruitful enough to be able to compete with the Fighters and Blitz, who also will be shopping the FA/trading market, to avoid relegation in season 4). Also staying here puts you behind financially with stadium upgrades and revenue. Again, why would you not want to self relegate?
Im not saying this is a poor reflection on how you have run the team (its not your fault... its to be expected when you take over a gutted team). Imo, the team is better off since you have taken over, but you have to admit GBR and 4-5 other teams are too far behind at this point.

i think the real problem is when owners sell and decide they want to gut their teams before they do it. that is so ridiculous. why build a franchise to tear it apart? you should be proud of the team you sell to another owner, not pass them on a pile of crap. you can't blame owners of teams who inherited a gutted team for the way their team is performing. especially not in the pros. in case you didn't notice, lots of teams don't want to switch up this high. they want to earn it, or they are in similar situations and know they can't compete. i don't think it is decent or respectable to bash owners who are trying to do their best under current market and league conditions. not everyone can be successful straight away.

I think all titles should be awarded separately to each conference and you won't run into this problem.

Awards aren't so great on GLB. You get players that return 1 kick or punt and they get the "#1 KR/PR average in x league" and idk about kickers/punters but they probably get awards for average too. Pancakes is a little different but could be off.

We stay interested. We have a fight on our hands NOT to get relegated, a point of pride from last season.
To be honest our team really doesn't have the strength to be competitive at any level, except for one of the new leagues. So rather than put ourselves down there voluntarily, and take the easy path of whipping up on new teams whom we have a half season jump on--we decided to take a harder road, and see if we can continue to slowly stave off relegation. Last year we lost by an average of 100 points in our losses. This year our games are a lot closer than that (and we're actually scoring some this year). Next season, who knows...
Is it easier on us, absolutely not. It's tough losing week in and week out. Morale gets lowered, frustration occurs. But are we being "selfish"? Hell no. I think it is the people who suggest that we should move down that are being selfish. Teams that earned the right to be here, and we DID EARN that right, even if they are cupcakes, have the right to be here.

exactly... last season i was 2nd and my team mate 1st in Eastern Europe AA#3 but it was a hollow victory because so many of the teams were such lower levels than ourselves... we ended up have more pancakes combined than the next 4 highest players
