What sort of ends score do you believe a good DE should have without EQ?

My dot is still pretty young and there is still time to screw it up, or perhaps I already have. The best I have been able to come up with end-build is:

VA: 72
Bonus Tokens: 1170
Training Points: 0
SP: 0

Training Status:
strength : 1%
speed : 0%
agility : 3%
jumping : 0%
stamina : 0%
vision : 1%
confidence : 0%
blocking : 0%
throwing : 0%
catching : 0%
carrying : 0%
tackling : 10%
kicking : 0%
punting : 0%

Attributes:
strength : 104.1
speed : 93
agility : 94.1
jumping : 47
stamina : 62
vision : 62.1
confidence : 40
tackling : 80.1

Top SA Tree: | 1 | 2 | 4 | 4 | 0 |
Bottom SA Tree: | 1 | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 |
Additional SA Tree: | 0 |

I see the inefficiency on tackling training.. but other than that am I way off the mark?

The build looks fine it you don't believe in vision. I would personally take vision higher then that for a DE. I would never go less then 68 cap. Some like as high as 80s.

Thnx for your input. I guess the question here would be how much plus is there from 62 to 68 for a DE. 80 seems extreme but I may be overlooking something.

I guess I have to wonder if it is worth giving up 1 point in speed and 7 points in jumping to make up for the vision (70).

I would absolutely give that up for the extra vision. Where do you plan on putting his eq? Also what will his AEQ look like SA or % wise?

I would leave vision where it is at in order to get two attributes right around 100, with the third around 90. I do not think you will see any difference between 100-102 over 104.

I agree with that for DTs but I like higher vision on DEs.

Best way imo to prove that to me would be looking at outside runs and screens. Unfortunately, don’t care enough to do it myself.

Not convinced there is much effect from Jumping above the mid 20s. If you pull back a bit on Jumping you could add another few points to your top 3 atts, or you could push up Vision to 3rd cap or Stamina into the mid 60s.

Nice job though.

40 jump and 10 TM defitely make a difference when it comes to PD's. Softcapped stamina is really enough for Dline unless you get snaps on ST

No it's not. You want more then 1st capped stamina.

What's the tangible difference in PD's? I'm not seeing it. One of my DE's went from 3-4 PD's per season to 4-5 PD's per season after soft capping Jumping. 3 pts in Swat for what it is worth.

U need it for TM VA, that is the biggest difference (if u are trying for PDs anyway). Also leave JMP at 20 and watch ur guy miss every diving tackle he ever tries to make, jumping is pretty important but u dnt need to go crazy on it

Yeah, jumping does a great job with diving tackles. If you are serious about increasing tackling radius and leave out jumping, then you are not selling out. I watched my DT’s diving tackles attempts double when I made the switch to cress jumping at 40ish. It then took maxing out Sure Tackler to stop the 1:1 tackle to miss tackle rate, where 80% of the missed tackles were diving tackles. PD’s are nice, but not a selling point unless your DL entire goes for it as a TEAM effort.

So you think you need to end every game on 95+ energy? Most of the time you don't drop below 90 with softcapped, and never below 80. Other defensive players are a differerent matter, but the ones on the line really don't need more than softcapped.
