Crazy week in the Africa Conference as 3 of the newest teams put teams on notice. VBA was the only new team to fall and they put up a fight against a tough ICB squad. Going to be an interesting season to say the least.

Africa
Republic (2-0) - Benin gave up 2 FGs in the games first 28 minutes before taking the lead with a TD right before the half. They went on to dominate the 3rd Q and wrap up a 31-6 win over SD.

ICB (2-0) - Hell of game from both squads that saw ICB jump out to a 30-10 lead at halftime. They gave up 3 TDs in the 3rd Q though to fall behind by 1 point. The 4th Q was all ICB though as they put up the games final 17 points. Nice job by the D generating 5 turnovers.

Black STEEL Surge (2-0) - After a week 1 bye the BSS crew pulled out a big win over a solid Philly squad. Almost 500 yards of O. D held Philly under 150 total yards. Controlled the clock with a TOP of 41 minutes. Dominating win and I'm moving them up a tad because I feel they had the toughest game this week out of the 2-0 teams.

Windhoek (2-0) - Put up 16 points before finally allowing a TD to head into the half up 16-7. Dominated the 2nd half with 31 straight points before giving up 2 garbage time TDs in the final minute of the game.

Somalia Pirates (2-0) - Seem to recall the Pirates devastating teams about 10 seasons ago. Looks like they could be trying to replicate that success again now.

TAP (1-1) - Took 53 minutes for TAP to find their way into the endzone. By then they were already down 52 points.

Cult (2-0) - After a tied up first half the Cult took over in the 2nd half putting up 31 points to SHPs 13. Outstanding rushing attack led the way with only 2 passes attempted.

Philly (1-1) - Ouch. That loss brings back memories of the Franklins S29 2nd round playoff loss to BSCM.

Mayan Warriors (2-0) - Another solid win and it looks like the Warriors may not have to face a team with a winning record for a few weeks. Can't justify moving them up just yet as they haven't played a top tier team yet but really liking what they're doing so far.

AquaBats (1-1) - Had to settle for 2 FGs in the 1st half which amounted to their total score at the end. Did a decent job running the ball but the passing protection was lacking here. 23 qb pressures and they were lucky to only give up 3 sacks.

Spring Hill (0-2) - Another tough loss for these Pirates with the defense failing to contain the Cults rushing attack in the 2nd half of the game. STs turnovers did not help their cause either.

Rocky Mountain (1-1) - Nice win by the Thunder in what was a tight game throughout 3 quarters. The D did a great job containing the run and making the passing game ineffective.

Sahara (0-2) - Tight game against RMT for about 43 minutes but Sahara failed to find the endzone once all game and gave up another 17 points to end the game. O is struggling right now.

Rwanda (0-2) - Just a rough game for the Knights as they were outplayed from beginning to end.

Uganda (0-2) - Ugandas O really struggled today and so far this season they've had to settle for 4 FGs and 2 TDs. They've got to find a way to protect the QBs with another 5 sacks given up today.

LEGIONs VBA (0-2) - Another loss in a game with multiple turnovers. VBA is going to have to find a way to secure the ball because it cost them in this one. The run game did well and they were alright airing it out. But those turnovers are killers. Impressive effort though.

Week 3 Picks
BSS vs TAP
Can't pick against BSS until they show some weaknesses.

RMT vs VBA
2 of the new squads and both are looking for the win to gain some momentum. VBA may be winless but they impressed me last week.

SD vs Sahara
Don't know what's going on in Sahara this season but after 2 weeks they've already equaled last season loss total.

Uganda vs ICB
Silverbacks are struggling and ICB is, well, ICB.

Somalia vs Benin
My game of the week here. New upstart Pirates vs a strong Benin squad looking to improve on last season. Taking the new blood here.

WWR vs SHP
Pirates struggling so far and the Rhinos look to have picked up where they left off last season.

Mayan vs RRK
Taking Mayan in a close game. RRK is 0-2 but schedule has been tougher.

Cult vs Philly
Philly needs to bounce back quickly with WWR and Mayan games up next.

Damit E... I sent you the beer... and in return, you give me the kiss of death.

btw, don't be overly impressed with our win vs Philly... they are still trying to recover from off-season (chemistry is low)... Philly will be tough come playoff time

ICB V Uganda might be the best match up of DC's in APL history....

Can games go 0-0 into infinity or is there just a fifth quarter?
