No...you don't get it. Every play is a deep pass because the QB holds the ball through the diagram routes and post diagram all the dots just run deep.

Take this play I just watched for instance.

http://test.goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=6900&pbp_id=228471

Supposed to be just a quick throw towards the sidelines but ends up being a 12-15 yard throw downfield.

yes that (and i know you know) but also the unreliable nature of 5yd outs being 2 yds or 8 yds.

Anyone who paid attention last season could already notice the late season tilt towards short passing and run heavy offenses.. This is just further pushing us down that road

More had to do with defenses just playing coverage all day and the fact that some of the HB passes were near impossible to stop without throwing a couple defenders in the area of where you know the play is going. Probably not going to be an optimal offense next season as they have already been looking into how HB's are being covered on the 90 degree angle cuts.

I've already mentioned that

Overall the changes don't seem to be nerfing all that much.

Seem to be an emphasis on blitzing and reviving LB's so that will add more risk to deep passing.....good
Not sure about that pump fake nerf, doesn't seem to be anything major really and look off now relevant maybe.......not sure
Zone run reads and LB reaction improved to help limit the outside runs..........good
avoid fake buff + route run fakes nerf...... don't think it was needed but w/e, another hit to deep passing.
Quick read + Hurdle changes........meh
Air resistance on passes...... Qhat?!? Maybe a pass should slow down for 50 strength QB but otherwise no.

Has GLB really not learned their lesson from adding 3-4 related sim changes at once? We want to tone down defender reaction and outside rushing so we have 3 changes based on it. Stacking 2-3 changes to slow down deep passing and fakes. Stacking 3-4 changes for blitzing. Can we just start 1 at a time?

Also, why aren't changes just being thrown live now like s27 or 28 and let us test it day 42-50? Everyone gets to test and see the info instead of having to search mostly unused subforums

Watching the test server those longer pass look extremely funny since they added the slow down effect to them. Maybe this should work when trying to throw way deep but I saw a few 10-15 yard passes that looked very quirky.

The reason he holds the ball usually is.... no pressure or hurry effect. Yes on a play like that the ball should come out quick but on some plays where its a streak route the QB just sits and waits for a bit because he isn't pressured.

There's definitely got to be better logical decisions from the QBs on routes like that because the whole design of the play is to get the quick out for a 4 or 5 yard gain.

Also add this to kickoffs and punts IMO

Maybe catch can add that to stadium construction to allow for different effect on passes thrown

Also not from Seattle

i always wanted weather conditions to add some flavor to the game.

Domes - faster players, pass quality bump
Non domes - depending on whether effect of the game, players could be slower, more fumbles, pass quality drop.

The hurry effect just nets bad passes now. Makes plays like that look even more disgusting. XD
