Valhalla Award aka Best Team
Tough call here. I'm going with MPHD. That oops game vs. Smooth to start the season and a mini-helmet loss to Oslo, but absolutely pounded a couple surprising teams in Alpha in GD and Kosovo. Certainly could make an argument for quite a few teams here.
Chicago Hedgehogs award aka Most disappointing team
Widow Makers. Yah yah, Catch screwed the builds over. This is GLB, shit changes every season. You either change with it or this is what happens. Still surprising to see them at 2-7.
Gunny's Recon whatever the fuck the rest of that team's name was Award aka Best New Team
South Bend. The 4 seasons that tdougie and I were a part of Canton's coordinating, we finished as a 1 seed three times and the 2 seed once. Right where we expect to be and Mojo is in Alpha, so we're feeling pretty good.
Dos Equis guy award aka Most interesting team
Smooth Criminals. Obviously this team came into the WL with much fanfare and they've delivered. If you let Booth run wild, your morale will be in the shitter by game's end. If you let him sling it, Cernet will find some dumb AI error you have and punish you for it OR Manson will burn your terrible LB covering him. Either way, you better score some points.
Dallas Longhorns award aka Most Surprising team
Kosovo Kryptonite. Wins over HHWC, Cincy and Mojo (ok 2 with mini-helmets, but they're still wins) put them in a position to actually make the playoffs. This team was on no one's radar. They still might miss the playoffs though.
S17 Zeta award aka Parity
Alpha's 1 seed and 8 seed are separated by 1 game right now. 2-8 over in Zeta by the same margin. Those last few playoff spots are going to be interesting this year.
Lol APL
26-10 so far. Is this the year that APL gets their first Gold? (Yes hays we know Carthage is an APL team that just went through OPL Alpha because it's terrible)
Chocolate Blaze Award aka Old Guard most likely to miss the playoffs
HHWC, Cincy, and Hood all sitting 2 games out atm. HHWC/Cincy loser is going to be in trouble. I'm betting on the longest tenured WL team biting the dust finally. Unless Judy returns to save the day!
