Would rather have some sort of regional identity where possible. I think that tends to add some fun in terms of team names, logos, forums, etc.

Used to be a lot of fun when we had real rivalries season after season. You had to work on recruiting harder, met the same teams each season. I like change when change makes the game more fun. Now I'm thinkin' back in the single digit seasons.

I think he was just giving a basic outline of how it could work. You can easily change the names on those leagues to whatever you want.

All this does is add an additional level for non-network teams in their quest to get to WL. As it sits right now, if you stay on schedule, you hit promotion from Semi-Pro to Reg. Pro at D240. If you do well enough in your Reg. Pro league, you promote to Nat. Pro just as you hit plateau. This gives you 5 seasons at Pro/WL level while in extended plateau.

If they add another level, plus increase the level of competition in Reg. Pro Elite, you are now entering Reg. Pro Competitive in your first season of extended plateau. It's unlikely they'll be able to promote to National Pro directly from competitive, so now they'll promote to Reg. Pro Elite. They'll now be playing in Reg. Pro Elite in the 2nd season of plateau, and if lucky, they promote to one of the new Nat. Pro league for their 3rd season of plateau. This means, at best, you'll get 2 seasons in WL while in extended plateau, if everything goes right for your team.

This idea will kill any potential non-network team from getting to, and staying in WL. No wonder the network guys are all in favor of this new league. They'll never have to play in it, as they'll just promote rosters up and reset teams once they get stuck in Reg. Pro.
