Why does the CB go toward the middle of the field where defenders are, instead of going directly towards the endzone where there are no defenders ahead?

The MLB as well? Seems like they are doing a potato sack race to see if they can tease the defenders in the middle of the field.

BTW, that CB's vision is higher than most WRs catching at his level

ok so put a number on it then. Not just a BS answer he needs more vision.

Seen this happen a few more times in other games, thinking it is not an isolated issue.

Most of the games are privy, so if anyone has some more of these where the coverage back intercepts the ball and runs towards the center of the field, share away.

I don't have replays but on just about every interception where a dot has returned it for at least 10-15 yards they seem to track towards the middle of the field and then at the same angle the went in, head back out toward the sidelines.

Noticed something I didn't before. They only start to change direction after reaching what would have been a 1st down for the offense, at least on the deep ones.

Nice corners you guys have there....

What I noticed is that after the interception, the corner thinks that the receiver is a threat to tackle him on the outside so he tries go middle first to put some distance between him and the receiver then he cuts to the outside.
