This was brought up in the main forums and I was just wanting to see the reasons people in peewee own/coordinate/build dots.

Way back when (S7 or S8) it was because it was the only league where I could get a fair fight and learn how to coordinate against equal competition. All the season 1 guys had the advantage of being here first, their dots were higher leveled and they had much more info.

So peewee was somewhere for me to compete whilst my "normal" dots leveled up to the point where they could play Pro ball (which was a 2 year process back then).

Peewee was great fun back in the day, it's sad to see what it has become.

I loved the idea about recycling players, and the peewee forums were active and fun. No doubt it is sad to see what it has become.

This was pretty much it. Also, I was just starting to have pee wee success when my regular teams were starting up and I was never really able to have any true success at higher levels. I always wanted to try it for real though and the way the sim down here is, I just might.

I like it here because the SIM is in so much flux.

I came here because I don't like the idea of dealing with a simulation that changes every season with players that take 10 seasons to build... Seems likely to fluster me.

You build your players to be competitive immediately, instead of building them for 7 seasons down the line.

You're able to test experimental builds without having to wait a year for them to come to fruition.

If you (or your agents) mess up or are still learning the game, you only waste 1 season, rather than the 3+ you just spent bringing your players up from rookie.

You're able to adjust to the ridiculous sim changes.

There's more of a sense of community down here because it is such a niche. Owners are generally nicer, post their builds, help test stuff. WL owners act like dicks.

Equal competition, everyone starts at the same place. It isn't just who recruits better.

You are able to focus on an end build in just one season, and another large draw for me was that we had a chance to make it to the World league of Pee Wee after just 2 seasons as opposed to 10 or whatever it is to get into the actual World League. I made my first stop in Pee Wee in season 12 and Iv'e never had a team in the regular leagues since then.

It's impossible to experiment with builds in just one season. A dot with one high attribute without a healthy amount of supporting attributes isn't really going to tell you much. Then there's the whole VA/AE aspect.

This game hasn't been about who recruits better since about early/mid 2009. It's all about who has the better network, most multis, or control of the most sheep that will follow everything they are instructed to do. That's why this game hasn't been even remotely as fun for me the last couple of years.

I liken GLB to outfielders in major league baseball. While the outfielders are superb athletes and their defensive skills are amazing, it does make the game more boring. At GLB most teams are ultra organized. They are much more organized and in-tune than before but makes ownership extremely boring.

Whatever you call it, its all about who you end up on your team, especially with age-based leagues. In many leagues its a given who will win before the season even starts just based on rosters.

My favorite thing about peewee is that if LordEvil or Gerr or whoever beats me, its because they're better not just because they started with a huge head start. (edit to include: Unless RNG goes crazy with false starts or, my pet peeve, terrible special teams play.)

Veteran Pee Wee people like LE and Gerr still probably have a knowledge advantage, having honed AIs and builds for a long time. They know what to look for, how to correct errors, how to take advantage of defensive or offensive tendencies. But it's not impossible to close the gap in Pee Wee, at least to get to a respectable level where you can compete. There's less to take into account (no AEQ, no VAs, half the plays simply don't ever work with Pee Wee dots).

I started in Pee Wee making a dot for some team or other, and realised that I could spend a few points in SAs, mess around with a "balanced" build, and generally have fun in one season, not have to wait x seasons pumping my primary and secondary up until I could finally start balancing out the build. And people have so much less dumbass attitude here (generally). So I bought a team in Copper and by the end of my first season, I had half a clue what I was doing, a very long and complex AI I could hardly understand anymore, and had recruited a few agents who are still on the team.

It's still good fun, despite the decline. There are several tough NBNC teams in Gold now, who can give anyone a good game, and enough very strong boosting teams to make playoffs very competitive. If the powers that be promoted Pee Wee a bit more and we had a few more good Silver teams coming up each season, then Gold could still get back to being intensely competitive again.

All of the above!

Getting good at Pee-Wee takes time AND practice just like any level would. The more time and work you put into it, the better you get. Also, if you start from scratch, it will take longer. But if you can get into a good system and learn it, then take it to your own team and play around with it, that works even better.

I have let a lot of people have a look at my system by either bringing it to their team, or letting them on my team, but most of the time, they just take a peak at it, and then copy it to their team. If you want to become good, you really need to understand why a good system works and not just copy it. This way, you can tweak it as the sim changes.

I kinda like playing around with different typed of build ideas.

I was lucky to have Honey badger show me the ropes in season 26 and 27 and each season i am learning more.

In season our OC went awol in the begging of May and took with him our chance at a trophy.
