Slamball is back? Except now passing is just effective enough that you can't stack everybody inside. Sigh...

I think passing is still effective enough to stay the number 1 option for some Pee Wee teams...I'm not sold on slamball just yet

Well stop hanging around the Pee Wee forums then, surely?

Exactly my thoughts, all you say is that it is dead...whats the point of being a regular on the PW forums?

PW Gold & NCBC were both won last year by slamball. This year slamball is more effective and passing less effective. I'm sold.

This feels like s11--everybody is just figuring out that slamball is what it takes to win. That means next year will be like s12...the return of TE's at WR's and everybody will be on the bandwagon.

According to what little research I've done almost every season starts out run heavy, particularly outside runs.

I will have strong opinions agreeing or disagreeing with you by season end due to the composition of one of my teams.

Yep. That seems to be the Bort-correction to a (possiby) overpowered inside running game. 1st and 10: HB Slam for 3.5 yards. 2nd and 6.5: HB Slam Weak for 3.5 yards ("hey, this is going nicely"). 3rd and 3: HB Slam for 2.5 yards. "Nice easy 4th and short". 4th and 0.5: False Start: Fatass OT1. 4th and 5.5: False Start Fatass OT2. 4th and 10.5. "Ahhhh crap."

My feeling too. However every time I see I called a pass I just think "no, please for the love of god no!".

This season seem quite different from the old days. The fixed DL really makes stopping slam ball more limited. I can't quite tell how passing is going to be. My QBs seem to lock onto the first progression way too long or never go to the second. They end up throwing the ball into double and triple coverage. The only chance I have is if the defender over runs the route or my WR makes an improbable catch. Some teams seem to have better luck with passing than I do.

The past two games I have gone all passing with few runs in obvious situations and I have had pretty good success with it. I think the only major difference with passing I see is that the QB tends to throw it away a bit more when he is hurried but I don't think that will play a big role in Pee Wee since O-Line overpowers the D-Line so much.

Quite a few passing teams are beating rushing teams in NBNC. It's funny how the two teams will be so lopsided. I think this season the sim is kind to both offenses. Now it's a chess match of what game plan will the offense have this game. I done built me two AIs, one passing and one rushing for this season. Should be fun.
