Season 3 Week 8 Rankings for USA #7 (Western Conference)
This week’s rankings have been reduced to the rankings and upcoming games due to my efforts to have a social life on Friday nights
Disclaimer: I am the owner of the New Brunswick n00bs and this is only my opinion based upon how the teams looked when I saw them
Week 8 Summary: No major shake-ups this week. New Brunswick’s bid to break into the top tier fell short, while Dallas’ fight for a spot in the playoffs got a boost. Portland continues to win the games it’s supposed to and positioning itself for a run at a top 4 spot, while Buffalo was dealt another blow, putting them in a precarious position.
5 games into the season, the conference is beginning to stratify itself into 4 tiers:
Tier 1 (Fighting for top seed): Waco, Great Plains
Tier 2 (Fighting for home playoff game): New Brunswick, Las Vegas, Silverymoon, Portland
Tier 3 (Fighting to get into the playoffs): Buffalo, Oakland, Spicewood, Scottsdale, Miami Dallas, Hartford
Tier 4 (Trying to avoid relegation): Grand Haven, RGB, Carolina
1. Great Plains Reapers
2. Waco Davidians
3. New Brunswick n00bs

Um, no comment…let your imagination run wild, haha.
Prediction:
Predicted Score:
#2 Waco vs #6 Portland
This game is really about Portland trying to prove that it belongs in the upper echelon of the conference. It could potentially be a shootout with 2 of the better pass offenses squaring against each other.
Prediction: This will probably be a pass heavy affair, but the Davidians will probably end up putting a lot more pressure on the Portland QB leading to more mistakes. I expect the Davidians to pull away fairly easily.
Predicted Score: 31-10 Waco
#4 Las Vegas at #8 Oakland
Oakland has really done solid so far, but a win against Las Vegas would be huge. For Las Vegas, they’ll need to win this game to stay within the upper tiers of this conference.
Prediction: Any chance of Oakland winning will rest on the foot of their kicker and their defense. If they can keep the game close, they could pull a stunner against the Stunners. Unfortunately, it’s hard to see that happening…
Predicted Score: 24-6 Las Vegas
#7 Buffalo vs #9 Spicewood
Both these teams are in a skid and need to right their ship immediately. With a one game lead over the teams trying to make the play-offs, Buffalo cannot afford a letdown and be dropped into the mass of teams below. Spicewood will need to stop its 4 game skid if it hopes to sniff the playoffs. This is gut-check time for both teams.
Prediction: This game is probably going to be a defensive struggle where neither team really scores points. I think Buffalo has the better personnel, so I give them the nod in a tight one.
Predicted Score: 12-6 Buffalo
Current “Game of the Week” Record: 21-10
