Looks like it was a failed vision check just as your WR catches it. I've seen this happen when QBs set off running, and as soon as a cut comes in, the whole D gets the red eye flash above them.

A vision check for....picking up the downfield block? If this is it, I would think you'd periodically see one or two of these downfield on each series with a completed pass at this level.

Yeah, I think its to do with reading the play, as if they didn't realise the ball was caught, so didn't look for a block.

This season was the first time I'd seen them in play, so it must be a new thing.

Looks like Catch kinda answered this in Q&A. Failed blocking vision check. Was added in the off season.

It showed up over the QB. That means the QB threw a pass, and didn't know if it was completed or not despite standing upright?

Midway through this play the WR and FB on the weak side get the red eye above them that shows that they failed a blocking assignment vision check. It's a failed vision check. Was added this offseason.

...and probably a catching(passing)/blocking switch, related to the announced blocking/tackling switch reaction.
