Week 8 Standings
Asmodan didn't have time to analyze for us, so here we go..
1. Frankfurt Crusaders
The only remaining unbeaten team remains holding a tight grip on the number 1 spot after a convincing woodshed style win over Larryville 108-0. Mike McCready exploded into the MVP race with a near 300 yard game and with 9 touchdowns.
2.Belfast Commandos
The Commandos had no trouble putting Port St. Lucie in their place winning by 36 points. They were led into battle by one of this conference's best qbs, Tone Romo. Romo throwing for 398 yards and 4 TD's.
3.Bow Street Runners
Bow Street bounced back well just coming off of their loss to the #2 Commandos with a solid win over the always dangerous IKK Fu Rabid Mutineers. Nothing special here, just a contest to see who could kick the most field goals. Bow Street's Opaldawn Mardiell seemed to be the man today.
4.Glasgow Lions
The Lions were a fieldgoal away from the biggest upset of the year last week, so they came off with some momentum, easily getting by the Marseille Argonauts to the tone of 16-7. Marseille didn't really show any life until the 4th quarter when it was too late.
5.Limerick Vikings
Limerick earned the #5 slot after their "Small Ball" victory over Reykjavik, only putting up 284 yards and two scores.
6.IKK Fu Rabid Mutineers
A continuation of IKK Fu's fall from grace with their 3rd straight loss. I wonder whats going on over there, it seems ever since their first round knock out in the playoffs last season, they haven't been the same team. They fall 19-6 to the Bow Street Runners. They have another toughie coming up next game against the Glasgow Lions. Hopefully they can turn it around.
7.Lyon Breakers
With a victory over the Sweden Army, The Lyon Breakers take the #7 spot. Barry Gallien was a perfect 5/5 kicking and the Breakers cruise to a 22-13 victory. They will have a tough challenge next game as they go head to head with the #5 seeded Limerick Vikings. I smell an upset.
8.Sweden Army
These guys just can't seem to find their groove. They just lost their third straight game and it's not gonna get any easier from here. Next week Frankfurt is coming to town with the momentum of an astounding 108 point win. If they don't defend their home stadium, they will be temporarily knocked out of playoff contention.
Week 9 Game of the week:
IKK Fu Rabid Mutineers Travel to Glasgow to face the Lions. This is anybody's game, even though IKK Fu desperately needs a win.
