When is the best time to buy your 1st piece of AEQ? Is there an advantage to holding off (like SA)? Is there some min number of bonus tokens I should have saved up to do it?

Thanks!

Depends. If you want a +3/+5%, it will cost you some more. As for when to get it, after you unlocked quad training and get upgraded 1-3 atts 3 times.
(Example: Speed, Agility, and Tackle all upgraded 3 times each for the 30% more out of training.)

How much is some more? Is the best way to roll for the AEQ or build it from scratch? I can't seem to locate a good thread on when/how to build good AEQ

You should only start on AEQ is when you have enhanced you multi training attributed. My rule of thumb is for a LB is to add first step as extra SA and buy a first step piece. Next piece depends on what you what to go with I like superior vision, so I would buy that one also. By the time you enhance and upgrade both of those pieces you should be ready to roll for your make tackle pieces. You can also go the monster hit route and buy that instead of the SV piece.

Thanks! Can I "roll" for first step/superior vision pieces or only build them from scratch? I read on 1 thread that its much more expensive to build from scratch than to roll for pieces.

It's harder to roll early on as each roll only produces a few chances,so after 4-5 rolls you've spend 15 bonus token trying to roll it plus whatever it costs to buy it. I think a first step piece is only 18 bonus tokens to buy. If you rolled it on you first roll and bought it would cost you 21 bt's. But building it woukd only cost 18.

ok, thanks. Can I add to it later on or do I have to pay for all the upgrades at the start? Seems like I would want to build 1 top of the line piece before moving to the next if possible.

Example:
For a +3/+1 first step is 88 BT. A +3/+5% make tackle cost 125 BT.

You can roll... But the chance of getting a very good one is slim at lower levels. I just build em, with my luck it's safer and cheaper.

You can upgrade as you go. I've got a big sack one working now. It's now +5 speed +2 big sack.

There is a 5% make tackle piece available from a roll. will it let me add the +3 attribute bonus after purchase or would that +3 show up during the roll itself?

You can add the +3 attr after you buy it at a cost of 50 BT's.

I find around L41 you can start shopping and get a decent number of 5% pieces. Getting the +3 in the attribute you want at any level is difficult. I find it easier to get my 5% pieces and add the +3 for 50 BTs. I don't think I have ever built a piece and all my players have had four +3/5% or +3/SA AEQ.

could anyone give me a rundown about how big the changes would affect the %pieces for the break tackles (with the current changes/updates to formulas)?

Great, Thanks all. Just didn't want to buy the 5% piece and find out I couldn't add the +3....would rather build from scratch in that case.

A strategy I use is once your all done upgrading multitraining with BT's and manage to save around 60 BT's you can start shopping for your 1st piece of either a +3 attribute that helps the build or SA with no bonus that would save you SP's at the back end of your SA tree. If you get a +3 and SA you want combined on one roll that's a bonus but at least with the other 2 cases you can enhance the piece. You should be able to save BT's by shopping if your not super picky. The chances of landing a 5% piece by itself is unlikely till your 40's so your 1st piece you shop for should be a SA by itself or +3 attribute( If you get lucky with both in one piece even better). By the time you start rolling for a 2nd piece after max upgrading the 1st one you should be in your 40's and may get lucky to get 5% pieces on rolls.

Post is all over the place but a few of my Level 45's landed a 5% piece within 4 rolls. I managed to save around 20 BT's at the minimum with at least one of them saving around 40-50 BT's. I don't know about you but that's pretty good saving on a +3 5% or SA piece.

What you should do before doing this is figure out what +3 attributes you can live with on the build and what SA's you'd settle for and put it on a list for that build so you don't pass on them trying to roll again for that one piece you'd like and get in a hole of spending more BT than ther piece costed to create. As you get higher in levels in the 50's and 60's you'll have a better chance of great 3rd and 4th pieces if you didn't get them as your 1st piece of AEQ. You may get lucky getting the combo +3 5% piece at those levels to save major BT as well. Be very careful with WR shopping cause that one seems the hardest to do so you may wanna consider taking +3 speed, agility,or catching pieces if they pop up 1st since you call always enhance it with either a SA or 5%. Those pieces are usually cheap at 7 BT's to buy and cost 50 BT's to enhance a +3 on a % piece or SA.
