Which teams are the most underestimated and which teams are the most overrated?
What aspect of their defense is overlooked or overhyped?
What is surprisingly effective or uneffective on offense?
Maybe its because of the recent loss, but I think I will be choosing to be fairly critical about my own team (well its scarlet's team, but I'm on it ).
I would have to say right now, I think the n00bs are one of the more over rated teams in the league (fellow team mates hold the hisses for just a minute and finish reading first). The n00bs currently sit at 7-1. Very respectable in my opinion. But lets look at the quality of those 7 wins. Carolina by 42...eh, Oakland by 13...one of the better teams in the league last season, Portland by 14...thank good we improved in the secondary, Hartford by 19...class organization but they seem to be trailing off a bit from last season, RGB by 33...I dont think those guys read the boards or they would have gotten the Awooga hints by now, Scottsdale by 22...same deal as Hartford, Miami by 18...If I remember correctly Miami was only 1 or 2 wins out of relegation last season.
Defense:
I think the n00bs are spot on when it comes to defense. However, there have been some inconsistancies. It seems like in games where the front 7 comes up big, the secondary allows tons of yards, and vice versa.
Offense:
The run game...is what? Its true, the A7 league leading rusher (east/west combined) has been basically stopped in his tracks this season. He has fewer than half the yards he gained last season, and the season is allready half completed. Sure he still leads the conference in rushing and is 2nd in the league, but his number just arent adding up this season. The back up HB has been a little out of sorts this season as well. In just 8 games he has fumbled 4 times, losing 3. Dont feel bad though JR, Martin has 4 fumbles as well as loosing 1, but he hasnt lost the ball since game 3 after making some adjustments.
*Disclaimer this post is not meant to be offensive or to trash talk anyone, or any team. It is simply a few analytical musings while I am at work.*
