I was watching a game the other day that was so bad that I'm forced to share.

It was like 3 and 2 with 7 seconds to go. Up by 7 points. Opposing team had 0 timeouts. Rather than kneeling, the ball is punted and returned for a TD. XP is good.

Game goes to overtime. Team makes it down to 10 and decides to go for it on 4th and goal. Result is a sack. Opposing team eventually kicks a FG to win.

Ok, I made up some of that story but it's more or less true. Any other examples?

Why would anyone punt on 3rd down? You mean 4th?

Just now playing madden, the Raiders went for a field goal with 14 seconds left in the 1st half, THE CLOCK IS STOPPED, and it's 2nd and 14. Missed it.

That's the point, it was 3rd down. And the clock stops on turnovers, so I think he means 3rd

If they were that bad at building Als they most likely wouldn't even know how to make an input/output to punt on 3rd down...I think they story is a bit false is all I am saying (Made up)

I'll try and find the actual game. It was one this season
