Looking to build a Speedy LB. Not a Coverage LB, just a guy that can get all over the field. SPD/AGI will be big for him, almost like being another SS on the field.

What I'm looking for is a 'get anywhere, tackling machine'. What I'm looking for is what the 'fast build LBs' consider... well, Fast. How much speed is needed? I want to be able to keep up with Slot Receivers, but still able to actually Tackle.

end builds for "fast" LBs have over 90 speed and around 90 agility. those builds are not that uncommon.

your dot is a hard hitter archetype too - spd is a minor for him and it will never get as high as you want for what you're suggesting. If you burn enough SP to get speed to 100+ naturally he'll be seriously deficient at other things.

I would remake your guy as either a blitzer or coverage archetype if you truly want max spd.

This is about the fastest I can make a HH archetype and still have it well built all around

Attributes:
strength : 97.57
speed : 93.79 +55 - 148.79
agility : 96.1
jumping : 21.26
stamina : 66.79
vision : 78.1
confidence : 50.26
tackling : 90.57

If you notice, he isn't even to 95 speed, and his total speed is probably about 12 pts low from what you would want. Vision should be closer to 85 for the type of LB you want, and jumping should be 40. Strength and tackling can both come down to about 75-80 each.

I like the look of that build, Rage. You are right, I would want my Vision to be higher, and jumping helps in a number of areas (diving tackles, knocking down passes at the line, maybe even pass deflections/interceptions in coverage).

What SA's would you say would be most important? I think I would need Shed Blocks to compensate for losing that STR. Those Morale ones like Aura of Intimidation to lower morale and make it easier for me to Tackle (due to the loss of STR again). Anything else that stands up as a 'must have'?

Does Closing Speed ONLY work for CBs? It says it makes the CB gain a boost when away from the ball, I didn't see that when I took it. I wanted it to close in and be in on even more plays.

closing speed works, but I wouldn't get it unless you are going for 3 additional SAs

On the type of LB you are talking about, I would go with FS, and Super Vision as the first 2.

Also, even though you aren't going for a coverage LB, if he isn't a pure blitzer, Ball Hawk VA is a must.

Keep seeing FS discussed, but haven't seen the skill on my trees. What is FS? Super Vision sounds like it is exactly what I want. Already have the Closing Speed as my Extra or Selected SA.

So I should save up my Points and get the other SA's? Since I already have Closing Speed, in what order do you suggest I get the other ones?

FS = First Step. You would have to buy it with BT's.

Ah, that's the one! Thanks!

So I need to go with 3 SA's on this guy (tons of BT's there). First Step, Super Vision, and Closing Speed.

All of that, stacked on top of his high SPD/VIS as it is, should make the guy a missle. AGI would be next, so when he does have to change direction he doesn't slow to much. So Primary would be SPD/VIS/AGI.

Now, his SA's would have the extra SA's FS, SV and CS. I think the Intimidating/Morale SA's would be his others. Snarl and Aura of Intimidation. This works, as they are 1-2 in my Tree, so I don't have to go any further, 'wasting' points to get to what I need. Dropping Morale makes them easier to tackle, which is great since STR/TKL are both now 'Secondaries' for me.

This sounds like the route I want to take, adding some SA for forcing Fumbles (I am a 'Hard Hitter Archtype'). My Gear, once I have to work on that, should be things that boost my ability to force those Fumbles and add to my STR/TKL to help compensate there.

I'll probably do another guy like this when he Retires, and use the Coverage or Combo LB, and see the differences.

You probably want agility higher than vision. 95+ agility, and 85+ vision. No SAs other than the 3 additional SAs.
