Western Conference:
8. Hood @ 1. MN: If you look at the lolbars, Hood has a 3 point advantage in both blocking and kicking. However, if the last 3 seasons have told us anything, it is that the playoffs go through Touchy and Fillie Deez Nutz Stadium. 3 straight league titles and the number 1 seed this season. They also won the first match-up 47-3, out-gaining Hood by 100 yards and returning 2 ST TDs. IMO, Melissa is better with the postseason SIM than the regular season SIM, so I bet they win bigger. Prediction: MN 59-7
5. PCJ @ 4. RMO: While this game is in Outlaw Stadium, RMO has struggled in the postseason. This team is more like the anti-Melissa as they finished 1st last season only to be upset in the first round. However, they did defeat PCJ 17-10 on the road. RMO has proven that they can play with anyone during their current 7 game win streak beating both MCC and RD. PCJ has been in every game they've played losing by a MAXIMUM of 14 points to any of the playoff teams (still not sure what happened in the MMW game). RMO looks to be hitting their stride, so its going to be hard to pick against them at home. Prediction: RMO 24-10
7. HK @ 2. RD: The most intriguing game of the first round in the Western Conference occurs in The Insane Circus Dome. HK defeated RD 10-5 in the famous "I didn't game plan for that game so I doesn't count as a true loss" tournament game. RD got their revenge 28-3 in the regular season. I have no idea what to expect from HK. I don't think their OC/DC has figured out the Casual game yet (hence, their move to regular next season) as HK has lost several games that shouldn't have been close. They also have big wins over RMO and RDW. HK has the talent, but do they have the tactical ability to win this game. Right now, RD is still holding onto the highest effective level, so they also have LOTS of talent. HK screws up the tactics again, blames the SIM, ragequits Casual, and RD rolls. Prediction: RD 35-0
6. UD @ 3. MCC: Perennial LU contender UD travels into The DEN to face MCC. WIll bruijaah have time to gameplan? We know that he (?) can't watch the games out at sea, so that makes it difficult (granted I haven't watched but 1 game all season...). UD has some impressive wins this season, but as time goes on, UD continues to get more and more out leveled. This will probably be the last season that a LU team can compete in Elite. Prediction: MCC 52-3
Eastern Conference:
8. PP @ 1. ECT: ECT has the 2nd most points scored, the second fewest points allowed, the top ranked ST unit, and they beat PP 89-7 the first time. Enough said. Prediction: ECT 77-0
5. PPE @ 4. DN: In the only truly exciting Eastern Conference game, Philly travel to Elm Street to face "the merger". DN got hurt early by chemistry as they lost 3 of their first 5 games. Since then, they have reeled off 11 straight including one over ECT. While PPE did beat DN 24-21 back in Week3, it was at home with nachos with DN at low Chemistry. This game shouldn't be close as DN has given up the 3rd fewest points, scored the third most, and has the third ranked ST unit. Sorry Philly. Prediction: DN 49-7
7. FTWC @ NHG: Another LU team faces a great NHG team. They lost 68-0 in week 16. Expect more of the same and don't expect FTWC to score. Take a second to look at what the NHG have done defensively this season. Impressive...Prediction: NHG 70-0
6. LHH @ 3. RR: The 3rd LU team to make the playoffs. They lost 108-3 in the first meeting. I don't expect it to be that bad, but it won't be close. Prediction: RR 94-7 in the largest victory in round 1.
