right now the guy is level 34. I know new dots will pwn old dots, so i went and took this guy through the vpb, to see how he will likely end up.

Position: g_run_blocker

With his current AEQ, and the BT's he will get over the rest of his career, he will have 4 full upgraded pieces of AEQ.

speed : 61.44
agility : 86.44
jumping : 6
stamina : 61.44
vision : 69.26
confidence : 70.26
blocking : 89.26
throwing : 8
catching : 8
carrying : 8
tackling : 8
kicking : 8
punting : 8

Top SA Tree: | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Bottom SA Tree: | 6 | 8 | 6 | 9 | 6 |

So is that worth continuing to boost? or should i retire and start over next season with the new system?

I'd say yes, keep him. Although spend less skill points in the SA tree and use the equipment to get Get Low and Cut Block (for example) to 10.

Several people would want speed a little higher on a dot like that.

The only way you can be sure that you want to keep him is to simulate a new guard built with the new player development changes, and if you can get to something that is clearly better then now is the time to start again. It just depends if you want a good dot or if you want an amazing dot I suppose.

I don't think OL have any real reason to go 4 AEQ, since there's nothing particularly spectacular about our SAs. Other than that, what ^he said.

I'm noticing the importance of speed lately. Since he is a guard, he will be getting over to the LB's. He may brush a DE, then if he has enough speed get across the line of scrimmage and put a hit on a LB. Also, that guy is going to be shit at pulling and there are pulling run plays at both LG and RG. Just my 2 cents. If you do go with the low speed, make sure you pick up a ton of First Step. You really should consider first step regardless.
