Is it a good idea to have a FB, HB, and TE pass blocking at all times? I currently have tactics set to make them never run routes and just stay back to pass block 100 percent. Is this smart or is it more useful to make them part of the passing game

Depends on what defense you are facing and what you are trying to do with your offense.

For example, If I am facing a defense that blitzes heavy in SB, I'll either hold my HB in to try and slow them down or set my progressions on SB plays to have a hot route to my best WR, especially if I know I can get 1v1 coverage.

Let's say that WR is WR1, then I might hold TE in as well since TE is opposite side of the field and holding him in shouldn't make a difference to the defenses coverage on the weak side.

Though, it should be said, I like to have as many potential receivers on the field at the same time as possible, so i'm not one to really set up heavy blitz protection. I would rather send certain guys out and try and get quick passes off.
