Hypothetically speaking you have a player that boosts in preseason before it hits plateau and then hits plateau during season. Can he boost 6 times in the season?

Ok, that just seems bizarre that that is allowed as such.

It's how it has to be done to allow people to hit 79 in the future with a 7 season XP gain.

However it's not much different than what was done before where people who reached level 69-71 could boost to 72. Now anyone who reaches level 76 by their plateau can boost to 79.

well yeah, but it says you can triple boost once in plateau, meaning you could boost in preseason 9 at day 320 -8 if you wanted. I just find it bizarre that they would effective encourage 6 boosts in one season thats all. For it to be a true plateau, one would figure that the gains would slow down then cease, instead of slow down, one big gain then cease.

The kindof wonky part IMO is that you can then boost that dot again to 75......

Yep, well i mean if you want to see wonky, my almost 800 day old level 55 center got 3 boosts too Only used 1 to get to 56 for the gear upgrade but even declining players got the boosts.

Yeah next season my dots could boost 3 times at the start of the season, and then 3 more times before the 2nd round playoffs if I can get my team there.

Are the plateau boosts included in the 30 boost maximum or is it 30 boosts plus the plateau boosts?

What you have to understand is that there are 2 systems at work here. One for current players created before Day 40 S23 and those created after that (S24 players)

Season 24 players (new players this season) will be limited to 30 boosts. It is not technically a 30 boost limit because they don't want someone boosting 31 times. It's because of the added in boost/level cap, all new players will be able to only obtain 30 boosts maximum due to the # of seasons you can boost (8 seasons so 24 boosts) plus S0 (3 more) plus plateau boosts (3 more) or 24+3+3=30

Older players were working on, essentially, a S0+10 boost season setup. When everyone was converted they would have had more boosts used already than a new player would have at the same age (except old day 40 players and maybe day 80, which is why they were given 100% retirement refunds) as seen here http://goallineblitz.com/game/forum_thread.pl?thread_id=4686077&page=1#42967169 at the bottom of that specific post you can see the boosting/level limit.

For new players you will hit a point where you will no longer gain XP because you will be at the level 70 or 73 cap (depending if you boost in S0 or not) and will only gain levels at that point by boosting. Old players will always be at, or nearly always be beyond that cap because they have boosted more times than is possible for new players.

So all that said, for new players the 30 boosts includes the plateau boosts. In fact they will only be able to boost 27 times if they did not boost in S0 (S23 off season for the current new players). For older players, they can boost more than 30 times, and will likely end up with 36-39 boosts, or maybe more depending on how old they are.
