Not all these ideas are mine but hell, I'll take credit for them anyways.
1. Auto-reorder the rosters after purchase of a team automatically to fix that bug.
Most people know about it but there are always a few new guys who get confused about the error.
2. Modify the Auto-reorder button so that it only affects the specific depth chart that you are looking at.
Presently, if the OC hits the button then the Def and STC get wiped out too. That doesn't help chemistry between the coaches.
Edit: Implemented
3. Split the Depth Chart privileges into three options.
The Owner should be able to allow a coach to either have access to the Offense, the Defense, or the STs or any combination of the three. This will prevent some tampering whether its on purpose or more likely accidental.
4. Somehow allow depth chart presets to be saved under a previously used preset name.
Edit: Implemented
5. Put archetype icons next to players' names on the bottom of the Available Roster section of the depth chart page.
Would help in planning. Simple enough.
6. Create a rollover on players names in the Available Roster section of the page to show basic attributes.
That would be easier than having to have a separate browser tab or window open to reference.
7. On the roster page, change player links so that they open a new window or tab should you decide to click on them.
Right now, at least in my browser, the page just transitions to the player page and I've lost all depth chart changes I've made before the last save and I'm cursing Bort's name.
8. Incorporate this greasemonkey script I've been using to show the depth chart positions as they line up on the screen.
Hard to find the words to explain but the script is http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/47396
9. Add a small notes box section to each individual depth chart that saves with the preset.
This will allow coordinators to remember what they were thinking originally if they have to go back to use it.
10. Allow players to be placed on a DC immediately after signing.
Right now, if you sign a player that played a game the day before you can't place that player on the DC until later. That leads to players potentially being forgotten and getting pissed. I propose that once a player is signed, he can be placed on the depth chart right away but will be inserted into a game only when legally allowed.
11. Optional Auto-assign new players.
I propose a checkbox that will allow an owner the option to have the system auto-assign a player to the respective depth chart position automatically after signing a contract. This will allow a player to set tactics right away and will eliminate the chance of forgetting to put a player on the chart. This would be useful for players that sign in the middle of the night and the team has an early game. A safeguard can be programmed so the player is on the depth chart but won't be inserted into games until legally allowed to. See #10. Again, this would be optional.
