dude Im in gold too and I lost my silver championship game. Apparently a ton of gold teams requested demotions so the teams that lost in silver championships with the best records got promoted.

that happened to me. 3rd year of pee wee and i went to GOLD having lost the playoff game to UT PIMPS.

I lost 56-0, so that shows how much I still needed to learn.

The first season in GOLD was no fun.
the teams were WAY better than me, but I managed JUST to avoid relegation.
I dusted myself down and came back to another season of heavy defeats , but a slight improvement overall in the team.
It has been tons of fun, but lots more defeats than wins.

Hope you are not out of your depth, because it IS unfair putting teams into the tough GOLD cauldron when they are still learning.
However, sometimes the best way to learn to swim is by being thrown into the deep end.

This is true, good examples of teams that were promoted to gold without winning a silver league are Maine Grenadiers and Fighting Gamecocks. However, Maine had already won an official tourney and FTW tourney before their promotion, but FG was actually considered undeserving and hadn't done anything before the promotion. What you did before gold has no bearing on what happens in gold; that's why any team can win gold any season.

Yep, PNM made it to Gold in our 3rd season. We got our asses handed to us by a McCollums team in the Silver Championship, but were promoted to Gold anyways. We've made the playoffs for all 8 seasons we've been here, but overall have been just above mediocre since we got here. The regular season will be tough, but manageable for you if you put in the effort. The playoffs on the other hand....BRUTAL!

It's a double-edged sword.

Are you ready for PW? No (That was my opinion when playing St. Clair, didn't play WBYL). So that means you'll take some lumps and lose some ugly games.

However...if you actually want to spend the time to learn the game, you will likely learn a lot more by getting your butt kicked in Gold than you will playing a bunch of really bad teams in silver.

what I found noticeable when i got here was

1) builds - I was WAY behind on builds
2) game planning - teams scouted me and just tore me apart. I had no idea where to start to make changes - it wasn't that I needed to plug the holes in defense , I needed a whole new defense.

I can remember the first season and saying to myself.
"I am paying for this, and it seriously is not funny"

I was really happy to finish 4-12 and scrape back into Gold for the first season.

First of all, What does WBYL mean?

Anyway, this is my 3rd season in pee wee as well. I easily won the championship my first year in copper, moved up to silver, made it to the playoffs easily, this past season I lost in the silver championship but still got promoted. Im excited though.

Last year I wanted to see how I faired against Gold caliber teams and most of the time I got HOUSED. They just destroyed me and I couldnt figure out why. Its weird, when I played gold teams at the beginning of the season I did very well and competed. I even beat TIA, gold winner, early last season and won. But as the season went on I kept losing to the gold teams by more and more. I didnt realize how much more in depth you have to go with the AI in gold compared to silver.

While in silver I never scouted and just used a base defense and consistently won games but when I tried doing the same thing against gold teams I got ROCKED. That experience has helped me out A LOT. My goal for my first year in gold is 8-8 but we will see.

You're here based on a 16-0 record and a great showing the in Championship game.

I also previously made it here in my 3rd PW season. (won Gold in copper and silver with Garrison of Rome) Made the playoffs at 8 seed but found Gold too time intensive to be any more competitive. My curse of being excellent caused me to duplicate the feat of attaining Gold by my fourth season the second time around. (Gold copper, CC silver loss, Gold silver) So my penance will be to suffer some big losses this season before a probable demotion back to Silver.

Trust me ... you'll learn a lot here by the higher competition. If you plan of being here for real ... it's better to get blasted here than run the table in Silver.
