maybe player levels and not age is how leagues should be made so we do not have to see level 35 teams playing level 76 teams for most of the games nothing like a playoff game of 218 to 3

Thats how it used to be and was changed because older teams of non-boosters had an advantage over similarly levelled boosting teams through several extra seasons worth of training. Meant there was less of an incentive to boost.

when the age based leagues came out it was made clear to the people who run the game that this would happen. Now you just get to deal with it. They did throw people playing for free a bone in the free fully boosted player.

Yeah, the new model seems to be "Look how much fun it was to have that one free player... maybe you *can* afford 9 bucks every month and a half (for a "glamour" player.)"

Had to deal with blow outs in previous system as well, with level based leagues....it's part of the game. There will always be inequities between some teams, between some game plans, between some AIs, between some builds, etc...the leagues seem to be settling into reasonable competitiveness, with the exceptions being when teams fold or re-start with new groups of players....

Non-boosters have access to a free player as you mention....sure, they may want to play with more than one player, but that doesn't really make sense from GLB success side....money needs to change hands to pay for the servers to sim the games at a minimum...paying the company to continue to develop the game is probably a good idea as well...if you like the product that is...

i'm seeing a whole lot less games decided these days over 200 pts than the old days. if you want to compete as a non boosyer, you need to compete in the lower ends on a age level, or become a specialist. i'll just never understand why this is such a difficult concept for people to understand.

as i was recruiting for 2 prep teams early in the season, i was shocked how many non boosters went to the top few prep leagues or even university teams. what do these people think will happen when they start out 5 levels behind to start and with be 8 or 9 levels behind at the end of the season? people need to be smarter in the teams they pick.

I was referring specifically to the OP's comment "level 35 teams playing level 76 teams", not so much the blowout itself. Really old level 73 players could very easily lose to level 35 non-boosters. Really though, level 76 players vs lvl 35 players shouldn't ever happen yet it's a problem that ABLs do not solve.

And I agree, Guppy, competition as gotten somewhat better. I must eat my pre ABL words with respect to that.

Maybe it should be set so that teams are set in a pyramid setting, and they move up accordingly. It would work so much better because teams would care, and Bort and co wouldn't need to do anything,.

When I see pyramid, I think of one league. Teams start at the bottom, you can only play those in your level or one up. As you win you rise levels of the pyramid. The goal of course to be on the top. If you have problems winning, you stay with everyone else that has trouble winning. Doesn't matter what your levels are, age of your Dot, how many are on your team or how good a game planner you are, you are where you belong.

They just need to do a league reshuffle each season just prior to season turnover, not day 41/42 when new team haven't even been given out or other teams have finished recruiting.
