Alpha Conference Rankings, Pre-Week 8
Formula Warning - rankings are done with the Zeta formulas, which will bias the results towards winners of this week's games as the Zeta Conference has 7 weeks of scores entered and Alpha has just one. This will equalize as time goes on.
1. Sydney Sea Dragons (99.9) - Dominant roster scores on both sides of the ball.
2. Brisbane Blaze (91.2) - Nearly tied Sydney for #1 offense.
3. Illesheim Krauts (85.2) - #2 defense in conference.
4. Newcastle Walabies (83.9) - Rush D holds them back a bit.
5. Florida Parishes Pelicans (79.8) - Only #8th highest roster score, moves up on basis of margin of victory and overall record.
6. Vanuatu Gunslingers (77.3) - True to their name, a passing attack as good as any team in the conference.
7. South Australian Serial Killers (73.5) - Top rushing attack in the conference ironically paired with fragile run defense.
8. Tasmania Devils (69.7) - I suspect this is the team that was most hurt by the margin-of-victory/strength-of-opponent information being limited to just week 7's games.
9. Easter Island Moai (68.9) - They seem to underperform - or perhaps they boosted recently and record does not yet reflect their talent.
10. Solomon Islands Blazers (67.3) - Good passing. Mediocre rushing.
11. Thatto Heath Teeth Smashers! (64.4) - Decent balance on the squad, but a little underpowered compared to the conference. Nevertheless, will meet up with Tonga in league championship game for story purposes, as their #1 WR caught passes from Tonga's starting QB in D Leagues last year.
12. Ohio Valley Ironmen (63.5) - D needs some help.
13. Orgrimmar Horde (55.7) - Well, at least they have a solid kick returner.
14. Newcastle Ghosts (52.4) - Maybe they should move to another city.
15. English Wasps (48.9) - Did I do something wrong? Do they really have the #4 passing roster in the conference?
16. Gainesville Blazing Inferno (34.6) - More like Dante's Inferno. Wow, do they need D help.
