Has anybody found success lowering their players energy output to wear down the other team that lacks quality backups to finish them in the later game when the back-ups come in? It is just a thought.
Havent tried it.
Given the effect upon morale from being beaten early, I suspect it would backfire - by the time your guys had the energy advantage they would be crying into their beer and suck anyway.
However I am a lousy coach and really am not the one to ask.

The morale is what i was concerned about.. But i imagined they may be able to recover if you get aggressive on play calling in the 3rd and make up for going down a bit.

Bad idea. If they don't have backups then you want your guys playing at full intensity since the other team can't match it as long.
