I've had a few people ask me for some clarification on how this is going to work so I thought I'd open up a thread where people can ask questions and I'll try and answer/clarify for them. Here are a few of the notes that I've posted for Bort in the Projects in Development for the AEQ changes. These are subject to revision but for now are the plan for what we are doing:

#1 - can not swap anything but a piece that has a +% modifier
#2 - can only swap a +% piece for another offensive or defensive piece. For example, can not swap a +5% make tackle piece for a +5% break tackle piece.
#3 - for refund purposes, we will figure out total amount invested into piece including # of shopping refreshes if possible. Not sure if we will be able to account for shopping tokens but should try to if possible. If someone only spent 6 bonus tokens to get a +3, +5% piece, then they get 6 BT's back (plus any upgrades). If someone created a piece, they get full creation cost back.
#4 - can only swap for a SA that is of equal or lesser value then the +% piece. For example, you could get any SA for a +5% piece but could only get the 15 BT SA's for a +2% piece.
#5 - can only convert the +% portion, not the +attribute portion.

so my KR just rolled a +3 carry +5% hold block piece of AEQ. she can swap that hold block for a break tackle next season since they are both offensive % pieces, right? do i have to buy the piece before next season/option becomes active or can i just leave it in my store until i'm ready to buy and convert when ready?

also my power HB can swap the 2nd 3% break tackle adder on his AEQ for a spin adder since they are both 30 SP's in the store, right?

Catch.....So, to clarify for my sake, I can not exchange a +3 stamina +1 Juke SA for a +3 speed +1 Spin SA even though the cost is the same for both pieces.

Well the last time i checked, that wasn't the case. You could switch the attribute and the % or SA as long as it was offensive piece for offensive piece and the same for defense. I can't find the thread or catch's quotes to back that up, but that's what I remember.

Catch .. this isn't really a question from confusion ... just an honest question.

it would appear that the stacking of AEQ causes an imbalance so that's why the % mod is getting adjusted a second time since AEQ came out. why not just remove the % stacking of pieces period? keep it at the 25% mod and just be done with it? or even 15% if it's so difficult balance.

seems a lot less confusing for new users trying to understand the stacking component and how gear now only applies for half the % points. etc etc

has that at all been thought about with bort?

You'd actually have to purchase the piece to convert it so to be on the safe side I would purchase it. But yes, they could convert that piece to break tackle. Correct on your 2nd question as well.

Can only swap +% pieces.

Will you be able to swap the % modifier on a piece that is already upgraded?

For example, say I bought a +5% make tackle piece at the store. I added a +3 strength to it, and upgraded it to +11 strength, +21% make tackle. Will I be able to change that to a +11 strength, +21% break block?

Can we get refunds for our +SA pieces we are holding onto as well? In some cases I was holding a +SA piece and going to use it...but now I may just switch the +% piece.

He's right you know.

People make plans for this crap.

Takes years to build these players.

There are going to be people that are ticked that they got stuck with the AEQ they had chosen in the scheme of things with % gear being what it was.

Would be far smarter and with zero down side - and a heck of a lot simpler - to just give everyone a complete AEQ reset if they feel like it.

Its not going to upset anyone.

And it will keep some folks from getting upset at all or as much as they might be otherwise.

So why NOT do it that way?
