Korb declined the initial WL season in S11, right. Who got their slot?

The team that last against us in the conference final

No, all the conference finalists got in that inaugural year. I think the extra team was Edinburgh Black Knights.

Initial season was wacky promotion with teams opting out because they wanted pro gold first, etc.

Should get Hali up on this list.

I thought after Dakar got to stay that one time, they changed it so that you can no longer decline a WL promotion at all? Cuz, like a bunch of teams declined and it was a clusterfuck.

I think so too.

I had no idea some of the following was in the official GLB FAQ. I think this information (feel free to help me word it properly) belongs as a sticky in this forum.

What teams make up the World League each season?
The World League is made up of the 16 teams that made the World League playoffs the prior season and 16 teams that are promoted from the Pro leagues. The conference champions from each of the eight Pro Leagues (APL, CPL, EEPL, OPL, SAPL, SEAPL, USAPL and WEPL) are promoted to the World League in the off-season.

A playoff team or a Pro conference champion is resetting/gutting, which team gets to take their place?
If a playoff team in the World League decides to reset their team and move to a lower level, priority will be given to the 9th place team in their conference. If that team does not wish to stay in the World League, priority is then given to the highest seeded non-playoff team.

Any team wishing to remain in the World League as a result of a team resetting MUST submit a Support ticket requesting to do so. Failure to do so will result in the spot being awarded to the highest seeded non-playoff team that did submit a Support ticket.

What's the rule if 2 teams from the same WL conference guts?

9 and 10 from that conference get priority? Or 9 from that conference and 9 from the other?

p sure it's 9 and 9

obv that's what I'm rooting for LOL as that is a possible spot for VDA, but it wouldnt make sense to do 9 and 10....

9a
9z
10a

if 3 drop

Not sure, could be based on their record.

I'd vote for Bobby Newport

Makes the most sense to me if 9+10 from the gutting conference got to stay, but I don't think logic has ever applied to these things in GLB.

Do you guys think only one conference is having a playoff team gut or something?

9 and 10 from the same conference does seem to make sense

but supposing that 2 teams from alpha gut, we would be looking at 2 teams currently at 5-9 in the "easy" conference staying up, while 3 teams at 7-7 or better in the "hard" conference would be demoted.

Yes, which is why 9th and 10th from the same conf. wouldn't make sense, unless that 10th have a better record than the 9th from the opposite conf.. The goal should be to have the best teams stay up, not like that is hard to impliment. Just use the normal tie breaker rules in case of same record. I think the most logical thing would be not to look at conferences at all, that is just giving the meta element of the game too much power over the final prize everyone fights to get to.

imo
