General Information

Welcome to the 1st Annual Dotball Syndicate Tournament. This tournament will be for the upper tier teams based on Niboris rankings.

Who is Eligible

The season 23 tournament will be open to WL, PRO teams only.

Tournament Description:
This tournament will be by signup. If you aren't going to be a WL/Pro team you will not be considered.

Will have two stages : Group and Single Elimination Championship Bracket.

Group Stage:

There will be 16 Pools with 4 teams in each pool totaling 64 total teams. The Top 16 teams will be placed in separate groups. The remaining 48 teams will be randomly assigned to a group. The Max Amount of games a team would play is 8. (3 in group play, 5 for the elimination section).
There will be a three day window for each game to be scheduled which allows plenty of time for the tournament to conclude before the regular GLB playoffs.

Tentative Schedule of play:
GROUP PHASE

ELIMINATION ROUNDS
Round of sixteen: .. days 13-16
Quarter-Finals: ...... days 16-19
Semi-Finals: .......... days 19-22

Group Stage Scoring:
The point system is for advancement. In case we have multiple teams with the same record H2H will be used. For instance 2 teams finish 2-1 in game play. The team who won the H2H moves forward. If it is tied the tiebreakers come into effect.
-- W = 3 points
-- W in OT = 2 points
--T = 1 point

If tied at end of group stage:
1st Tiebreak: Number of Regulation W's
2nd Tiebreak: Point Differential
3rd Tiebreak: Number of Off. Points Scored.

Elimination Round:
The Top team in each seed will advance to the elimination round. The elimination round will look like the below graphic.

Scrimmage Rules

When you set up the scrimmage please select these and only these options:

General Rules
– You will schedule your own game
– If a GM signs a team up, verification will be made with Owner
– A PM will be sent to owner upon signup to verify registration in the Dotball SyndicateTournament.
– You must schedule these scrimmages within the 3 day window provided above (failure to do so may result in a forfeit)
– Each game will cost the team owner 25 Flex Points
– Once a game is scheduled, it cannot be unscheduled, and there are no Flex Point refunds

Prize Pool:

Since GLB does not allow flex giveaways for tournament play we cannot do this without breaking GLB's rule. However, if we were to give out flex/cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, offensive and defensive MVP's the breakdown would be this:

When signing up, please include your team URL, Season 22 record. This thread will be locked and pool will be set when we reach 64 teams. Any additional information (historical, etc) you wish to provide is also acceptable. In addition post that you agree to the Dotball Syndicate Terms of Participation.
