Guys,

Just wondering if any of the SA's are of value to a coverage LB. Currently lvl 24 and have nothing in SA's as yet. Should I just keep building on the Primary and Secondary trees and ignore the SA's??

First Step
Super vision
Shutdown Coverage
Change direction.

These are your SA's, now choose.

FS is a must, along with SDC.

I must be being a bit dumb somewhere then, because on the SA trees I can see:

Hard Hitter Abilities &
Pass Rusher Abilities trees

You either unlock them via BT's or through eq. And yes ignore the SA's till late into his build.

i had my guy get closing speed as a SA is that a bad idea for a coverage backer

not a bad idea but most people will tell you that other SAs are better. sometimes its better to have a bit of a diferent build than most.

well i like closing speed he should be able to chase down the faster backs with ease once i have his speed among being a top coverage backer.

if they catch the pass... you're not doing a good job at coverage

it could come in handy still once hes covering a TE and a back catches it. hed be more likely to be the first one there to make a tackle

i was more talking about in the run game you have to make any LBer a side line to side line guy and he has already made some good plays on miss tackles

this is where change direction comes in... it not only helps in coverage, but it helps in moving sideline to sideline as your lanes change.
