Power Rankings for Western Europe #8 (Zeta Conference)
There have been a couple upsets, not anything huge. Being biased in owning the Folsom Falcons, and going through all the teams for the last 20 minutes, I couldnt find any bigger upsets. The Jupiter Dolphins upset the North Yorkshire Federals early, so that could be the biggest yet also. I'll be harder on my team since I am biased, but please tell me if you think I over/under rated them. Here goes...:
1. Nola Big Easies...They are easily the best team in the conference. With all of their first five wins coming against pretty good opponents. They beat Gotham City, Blitzkrieg, Folsom, Jupiter, and Palermo with mostly convincing score differentials. Palermo is the only team to come close to beating them this season, but still lost by 6. Folsom has been the only team to be able to score more than 20 on this team.
They have a tough schedule after this next game playing two teams with one loss records at the moment, the London Blood Ravens and the North Yorkshire Federals, who baring any upsets should still be at one loss when they meet up with both teams. This will be the team to beat all season, and going into the playoffs.
Players: (WR) Ocho"Chad Johnson"Cinco is leading the league in receiving yards, and with 83 yds a game and 7 TD's on the season is easily the hardest WR to guard in the league.
(HB) Black Lightening Johnson is averaging 4 yds a carry and 68 yds a game. He is showing that just because he can't spell lightning doesnt mean he won't stomp all over your defense.
(QB) Ries Striker is second in both passing catagories at the moment. He has 1319.5yds and 11 TD's on the season. Easily the best player on the team. His QB rating of 81.5 has him right up there with the best in the conference also.
2. New Yorkshire Federals...With their only loss coming in an upset by the Jupiter Dolphins the Federals have proven they are one of the best in the conference. The upset showed teams coming up that with a solid gameplan they can be beat though. Which will give the teams playing them in the future more confidence in going up against them. But don't be fooled by the loss, they are a team to be feared.
Out of their 9 remaining games only three are going to be considered easy. They play the Big Easies in a couple weeks and then after another blowout victory they will finish the season with a tough schedule...all their games after the Slashers are against decent teams with mostly winning records.
Players: (QB) Buzz Baller Status is, based on stats, 3rd, maybe even best QB in the conference right now. He doesnt have the yards to show, but what he lacks there he makes up for in TD's (3rd in the leauge with 10) and completions percentage. His 93.6 QB rating is the best in the league right now. Easily their best player...You shut him down and you may have a chance to contend with them.
You can't just name one guy out of their offensive line. They have the top 3 pancakers in the league. Their O-line is more productive than IHOP right now...look for them to finish the season off big too...they are the reason this QB is the best in the league. He has all day to throw.
3. Rome Gladiators...this team has a defense that will keep offenses frusterated all season. They have not given up more than 14 points in a game all season. That being said; they need to get their offense on track if they want to end the season with home field advantage. Only in the games they have been heavily favored have then seemed to manage a good win at the end...all the others have been closer than need be. They have a decent offense though, they just need to work on the HB carrying...he has 6 fumbles and have lost 3 of them...that could hurt the team in the long run.
The Gladiators will have their top 3 team honors on the line in a little while as they take on 3 of the top 5 teams in the conference later on. We'll have to see if these guys have what it takes to beat the best in the league.
Players: (QB) Lex Mortis is a solid QB. He doesnt have any of the best numbers, but he gets the job done. If he keeps it up you will see him at the top toward the end of the season. The only thing he needs to work on is the INT's...maybe vision is down...if he stops throwing those he'll start to shine.
(LB) Elizabeth "War" Wilson is number 2 on the forced fumbles list...if you are playing these guys you better hope your HB has good carrying or she'll be busting your jaw all game.
(CB) Mako Barber is number 2 in INT's this season. If you throw his way be prepared to use your wrapup tackle to stop him. QB's should think twice before throwing it his way.
4. London Blood Ravens...the reason this team isn't number 3 on the list is because they have only played a couple hard games. Other than that they have skated through against the easier teams in the conference. This is a good team, that has shown they can beat teams equal or greater than them, but they'll have to prove it in the playoffs.
Next game they have is another easy pushover. Their ranking is based on one of the 2 teams above them losing next game. They should kill the zombies next game...expect a 70-0 win from them.
Players: (DE) PK Bucks is on the list for sacks, hurries, and tackles. This guy is the heart of their D line. he has the speed and strength to get past the O line and cause some damage in the backfield.
(WR) Timbo King is a CB's nightmare. With 57 yds per game and 2 TD's on the season, it's too bad there isnt any double cover option in this game yet.
5. Amsterdam Chiefs...This team looks like the Zummerset Zombies at first glance...having not changed their team logo or name it would seem they are another team destined to lose games. But don't be fooled, they have beaten a couple good teams and have a solid team.
Key Players: Scurray Murray (RB)
Rushen Jones (RB)
Dan Shultz (CB)
6. Blitzkrieg Bombers...They have a decently hard schedule up ahead. Barely in the upper half of the teams in our league, they will need to win their next game and continue to win to stay there.
Their next game will prove how good this team is. They go up against Folsom, which without doing any scouting looks pretty evenly matched. If they can win this game it'll prove they deserve to be up here.
Key Players: Carson Palmer Jr. (QB)
"The Super Freak" Randy G. Moss (WR)
Zazen Shunyata (CB)
7. Draggin Dragons...this team DID beat the Chiefs up there...but they have also only won 2 of 5 games against seemingly equal opponents...They'll need to prove they are a good team by beating the Assasins, Blood Ravens, and Federals coming up.
Their next game is against the Double Rods...don't expect an upset here. The Dragons should claim another win this week....
Key Players: Archeon Demonheart (RB)
Carsten Hansen (CB)
Leroy Barbosa (DE)
8. Gotham City Stormtroopers...almost evenly matched game against the Jupiter Dolphins this week. They will have to win it to stay up in playoff contention.
9. Palermo Predators...They have a very tough game this week against the Rome Gladiators. If they can pull off the upset it'll put them up in the top 8 surely.
10. Folsom Falcons...Have a tough game against a team with a better record...If they can win it they also have a chance of getting up into playoff contention...
11. Naples Assassins...will have a tough game against the Frankfurt Slashers this week. The 2 teams are almost dead even on the scouting bars. Don't be surprised if the Slashers pull out a win.
12. Jupiter Dolphins...have a tough game against the Stormtroopers this week...they'll have to play their best to beat this team who is better than them.
13. North Georgia Whistlepigs...they go up against the best team in the league this week. The scouting bars show they have a chance. Their DC and OC need to put their heads together and come up with a solid gameplan to shut down this powerhouse.
14. Frankfurt Slashers
15. Houston1560 DoubleRods
16. Zummerzet Zombies
