Actually never heard it before on these forums, what does it mean?"Jumping the shark" is a TV show business term born from an episode of the (at the time) No. 1-rated show, Happy Days.
For years, the script writers on that show had to come up with ever-more complicated and wild plots to keep the national TV audience on board.
Finally, they wrote an episode in which the main character, "Fonzy" goes water skiing and jumps over a killer shark.
