I consider the second play much more bad-*ss since he revcakes three blockers on the way

What should you do for AEQ for a run-stuffer DT?

All in BB%? Any SA's that are particularly effective?

so to get some more discussion in this thread since it's a good one, what do people see wl caliber LTs of this generation finishing their agi at? I have most guys pegged for about 105 right now but could see it going a bit higher on some others if they're willing to make some sacrifices.

I created a new DT player. I got to a page asking which of 4 archetypes do I prefer, and 1 of them is the Special Teams archetype. What exactly differs in this archetype from the other 4, and is there any value in getting this archetype over Combo Tackle, Run Stuff, or Pass Stuffing archetypes?

the different archetypes have different attributes that are major/minors. Majors generally get the most points automatically assigned to them every time you level, so you wanna pick an archetype that accurately reflects what you want your player to be. As far as I remember, special teamers have strength as a minorr which is already a negative for a dt. Pass rusher DT has strength as a minor as well but has better majors. You'd only want the ST archetype if that's what you wanted your player to solely do, play special teams.

DT's in general are pretty bad in the current sim. Even if you build it perfectly, it won't do much. I'd recommend you build a DE instead.

I'd retire your current guy. Make sure to assign the skill points you're given at the height/weight page as well or they'll wind up evenly distributed throughout your player, even in stuff like kicking and punting, like they are on your guy now.

The different archetypes also offer different height and weight minimums and maximums for your player...it's unclear how much of a difference (for better or worse) a 360 lb DT will make over a 340 lb guy, but the taller DTs will certainly be able to block more passes at the LOS. It's possible that the shorter guys will have an advantage in breaking blocks and resisting push-backs.

I think that will be metagamed season by season.

My LOTs will end up around 96 natural agility I think. I also will have mid-90s natural blocking, which may prove to be a big mistake. The increasing disparity in RDE builds could prove to be quite a problem for LOTs...it is already pretty effective to alternate a strength and a speed/agility rusher at RDE, and with both of those types getting much better at their roles it may become extremely hard for LOTs to be effective in both matchups.

Yeah, I started a LT that I now plan to retire because I got blocking up first. It'll finish around 97-98 natural, but I'd only get about 91 agi and str won't be near high enough in my mind. When you figure you could be facing ends who could be 155 str/100 agi, 155 spd/100 agi, 135 spd/120 agi, etc, you really need to have a versatile build plan.

So how long before I should assign my skill points? is it still hold off for a while and train only for a few levels or dump them right away ? any help would be great

Till you can cap strength at 49. Train strength until then. After capping strength then multi train

lower ALGs, and there is no benefit to taking this archetype unless you are building a STOP that is going to be as good a blocker as tackler.

For my LOT, I'm banking on roughly

142 strength
100 agility
85-90 blocking
80 speed
10 protect
with first step and hopefully quick cut as well

so i was thinking of pumping my DT to at least a 100 natural strength before i started to consentrait on other points, is this a bad idea?
