Though it does seem somewhat poor logic to rank the Ridgebacks behind the Spears (considering the 6-0 win Week 3) the numbers drive this entire calculation.

The Mombasa Spears average 28.333 points per week while the Ridgebacks average 27.333 points per week. This is 60% of the equation.

Furthermore, an additional 20% of the equation rests on the combination of the highest & lowest scores for each team. The Spears high was 72 in Week 4, with a low of 0 in Week 3 for a total combined score of 72. The Ridgebacks high was 57 in Week 6, with a low of 6 in Week 3 for a total combined score of 62.

The final 20% of the equation comes from winning percentage...and both teams have won 5 out of 6 so it washes out in the equation.

Suppose for a moment that the Buckeye Nation had scored the same number of points each week, but instead of winning 13-9 in Week 6 that they had lost 13-16. It would drop their power rating from 65.500 down to 58.333. This is because their average score is (only) 23.167 points per game and their combined high & low is 58 (45+13).

There are a lot of things this formula doesn't take into account...like how many points your team allows, the quality of the teams played, etc. - but it does give at least some indication of who to look out for and provides something to talk about.

lol don't worry about it... I'd ignore the power rankings unless they totally favored my team somehow. At least in the GLB rankings you guys are higher.

The second half of the season could go better.

We have already played the teams ranked 1,2,4,6,7 and 11.
