1. Probably not as there is no way for the defense to counter it.

2. Yes.

3. No.

4. We'll never be able to eliminate lop side games completely but in most of the competitive plus leagues that has happened. Not much we can do when people don't field complete teams, don't game plan, or build poor players. All we can do is try our best to place teams where they belong and we feel we're starting to do a good job of that.

What is the current active user base amount compared to this time last year?

Down a bit but we still have between 20,000 and 30,000 active users logging in.

I've seen a lot of discussion about the declining user base, as shown here: http://siteanalytics.compete.com/goallineblitz.com/ Obviously, some of this is due to non-boosters quitting with age-based leagues. Is there concern about the decline in unique visitors? Do you have any plans to try and increase the user base? Has the facebook app shown promising results so far?

Obviously as a business, we want to grow, not decline. We're doing some things to try and accomplish that. That being said, GLB is doing just fine financially and there is no danger of this game going away.

I don't know the exact specifics of whether the facebook app has brought in any users. I know that it has brought in some but I don't have access to the exact numbers.

Will the sim ever care about any attribute but speed?

Meh. It already does. But yea, speed's important for most positions. That's not unlike real football though tbh.

When will Special Abilities be tested? I am primarily interested in the ones that don't work. Will that data be made available to testers or the public? Not the specifics of course, but test plays and examples of different SAs firing.

Thanks in advance.

We have no plans at this time to do so in the immediate future. If/when we do the results/plays will not be made public other then revisions to the SA's as a result of the testing.

OK I am going to try and ask this without having it turn into a suggestion.....

Would it be best as a whole to have an offensive play creator or would it just make it a lot harder to play the game?

What I mean is would it be to hard to have an OPC like the DPC because of the offensive codes the server already has in place would freeze the system?

Also what would be your thought if you did acutally have one in place for the game?

(trying not to ask or put out a suggestions just want to know your feelings on the subject.)

We're never going to add an OPC. It would add too much complexity, lead to the possibility of too many exploits (if you thought moving parts of the DPC were hard to deal with, moving parts of an OPC would be even harder), and would make game planning even more of a chore then it already is for a large number of people. Also it's not like offense doesn't already have somewhat of an edge on defense.

My thoughts on the matter... while an OPC would be fun, I certainly understand and agree with the logic behind not having it.

iPhone app will be free.

I have a similar question about the capped leagues. Bort's experiment in the World League seems to have been viewed favorably, and there have been several suggestions posted in the Suggestions forum regarding league structure in the age-capped leagues.

I suppose my question is: Are there any plans to revisit the league structure within the age-based levels?

Possible, but we are probably going to hold off on doing anything until we determine what we are going to do with accelerated player development.

Is consideration being taken to insure that the cost to play is at least comparable over the same time period in real life?

For example, if a player's career is cut in 1/2 (say, from 14 seasons to 7), would boosting over his career also cost 1/2 the flex?

We'll take everything into consideration. It doesn't, however, mean that just because we consider it that we'll do it. I know that's a cryptic answer but I can't provide details on something that is not finalized.

#1 Is GLB anywhere near the point where it will be a live version, instead of a prolonged beta test (where there are huge changes almost every season)?

#2 What is the official stance on player organized leagues such as the Underground league, or the Ironman league? Will the "powers that be" be doing anything to encourage or discourage these type of sub-leagues? They do slightly disrupt the leagues that the participating teams get sorted into.

#1 - it's getting closer. Once we have the preset AI's/playbooks added, there are only a few more projects we'll need to complete to get out of Beta.

#2 - while we don't officially endorse these leagues, we also see nothing wrong with groups of people setting their own rules and playing their own sub-leagues within GLB. However, we will never sanction these leagues or offer incentives for these leagues.

Go to guy va: it reads that if a tight end and a wr both have it the wr will take 1st priority over the tight end..

Bort had said in a q and A previously that if a tight end and a hb both have go to guy whoever is 1st in the play progression go to guy will activate on... So my question is, if a tight end and a wr have go to guy, will the wr trump the te always? or will whoever is 1st in the progression activate go to guy

WR will always trump non WR's regardless of progression.

Are you guys getting close to conceding that NGU was never really a feasible idea and considering removing it from the game and restoring previous seasons get back up time? Certainly Bort realizes now that it was a mistake to slow down get back up time to try and make a unrealistic VA work, right?

Possible. We'll evaluate this season and see how it fleshes out.
