Texan’s WL New Team Summaries

Last Season: 19-1 in SEA, lost title game to TKW 34-20
Brief History: The Monks have been hanging around SEA for quite some time, winning a lot of games but never quite breaking through. Despite two consecutive undefeated lolregularseasons, this is their first WL appearance. The Monks were always good but became the Royal Family flagship team after the Smurfs demoted and Portland Dirty Penguins joined as the third team. Originally established by mastawoo in Season 3. Never won less than 10 games in a season.

Last Season: 20-0 in SEA, defeated Monks in title game 34-20
Brief History: Multi-time WL veterans and members of the HHWC family of teams, TKW has had success at every level despite being the secondary team in the organization. They own 2 SEA gold and an additional silver, as well as some WL playoff seasons. At one point in time they were actually more successful in WL play than HHWC. They have had some rebuilding seasons as they are the second priority but when they decide to compete watch out.

Brief History: TSW is another team that has hung around for quite some time in their league without really breaking through other than their brief season 15 WL appearance. Thundercat has been a defacto leader in the EEPL forum and also a valuable resource for the team. They have been a playoff team for 15 of their 18 seasons and are a member of the DWO alliance.

Last Season: 20-0 in EEPL, defeated TSW in title game 59-17
Brief History: TJC has been a great guy in the league for a long time and it’s great to see him get a well deserved pro title. They have had winning records all but three seasons since season 8 and have really picked up the pace since joining Dodel. Just two seasons ago they missed the playoffs entirely and after a second round exit last season they were basically unstoppable this time around. No previous WL appearances.

Brief History: An official Addicts team, Paris has been around for a long time, although never had this level of success previously. Long ago they were in Pro, then rebuilt and won their AAA league in season 18. They have since gone on to unprecedented success. I remember doing an inter-league challenge with WEPL/SEA back in the single digit seasons and they were quite frankly not that good back then. Original WEPL team. How times have changed.

Last Season: 18-2 in WEPL, lost to Paris in title game 35-34
Brief History: Interestingly they are the last of the original WEPL, along with Paris. Also interestingly, this is their first WL appearance, so congrats on both counts. ECM has had a long a respectable history of always making the playoffs, then even more consistently losing in the second round. Something put them over the top this season and they had their best year to date.

Last Season: 19-1 in USA, lost to Cincinnati in title game 44-21
Brief History: The Hounds have a long and storied history of USA success with 4 silver trophies, each one exactly 3 seasons apart. Now that is consistently. With multiple WL appearances, these guys really need no introduction. Also the placed well or won several unofficial tournies along the way. They have spent an amazing 6 seasons in the WL.

Brief History: Another legendary USA team and member of the Dotball Syndicate. Winner of 2 USA golds and 2 silver, as well as several unofficial tournies. Multiple WL appearances, so once again not really a new kid so much as a returnee. They made the WL playoffs in seasons 15 and 16 but met up with mighty Valhalla in the first of those appearances.

Last Season: 18-2 in APL, lost to Carthage 29-21
Brief History: Somalia has a long history of success and winning tradition, but they get first first APL Pro trophy since season 9 this time around. While they haven’t always had a winning record, they have most seasons and even fought through some rebuilding years to return to prominence. btw, you guys need some team notes and stuff.

Brief History: Another team moves up this season from the Dotball Syndicate and which one gets player priority, I have no idea. This is Carthage’s second WL sortie, having won pro gold back in season 16 as well. They made the WL playoffs twice, losing to Blaze and then Alpine in competitive games. They have also had a history of success in unofficial tournies.

Brief History: It seems like there is always a Queensland hanging around and often it’s the Exiles. Two time winners of CPL, this Official Addicts team has WL experience and is already pretty well known around here. Will multiple Addicts WL teams be a problem?

Brief History: Having spent all of one season in CPL after winning gold in regional elite, Omerta is blasting into the WL on a tear. They were originally an Easter Europe BBB team back when BBB was cool. Along the way they have also dominated in unofficial tournies. They are another of the Official Addicts teams.

Last Season: 15-5 in SAPL, lost 52-24 to Rosarica in title game
Brief History: This 5 seed went on a tear at the right time and stole a shiny silver trophy out of SAPL. They aren’t new to winning the league however as they also did it in season 19, making a season 20 WL appearance, where they won a very respectable 8 games. They definitely have the track record to be dangerous. They came out of AAA after season 17.

Brief History: These three time champions of SAPL fit right in with the rest of the large group of returnees to the WL this season. While they have not made the WL playoffs as of yet, they have accrued a lot WL experience at this point. Could be the next Krungthep. Another of the tribe of Official Addict teams arriving.

Last Season: 16-4 in OPL, lost to Indy 41-34 in OT of the title game
Brief History: Sumatra obtained their second OPL trophy this time out and are also making their second WL appearance. While their first WL run did not go so well with all 0s in the W column, they at least gained some insight for their second trip. They have had a lot of winning seasons, and nearly made it back to the WL last season before losing out to EEA in the OPL Zeta CCG. They had a ton of turnover last off-season when Downhill PV merged his EEPL Lefkada Seahawks with the Sumatra Seahawks bringing over nearly an entire defense. Sumatra's chemistry was so bad that they did not make it back to 100 until a day before the OPL championship game. I don't see them going winless this time out for sure.

Brief History: Yup, Indy is back after their second OPL title. They previously spent 5 seasons in WL and some of those had a nice amount of playoff success. Even their demotion season of season 20 had a respectable 8 wins. Obviously Indy is one of the top 20 or so WL franchises of all time and needs no real introduction. What they do need though are some damn team notes...
