With an awesome game coming up in the next 2 days...time to pay some homage to sportscenter!! Heres the championship version of who's got the EDGE (sponsored by EDGE shave gel)
Offense:
The 85' bears come in to this game with one of the best PW OCs in recent memory with Bevo05, his unbelievable ability to exploit the sim (just had to sneak it in there ) has many OCs scratching their head. He loves to pass the ball and runs in the short game. Bevo led the Bears to the number one offense in PW gold during the regular season, while it has struggled somewhat in the playoffs, he has been playing extremely well throughout the season. The Maine offense is led by guzzdude, a classic OC that loves to pound the ball and go deep with receivers and backs. A lot of short gain and long gain going on with the maine offense. This is uncharted territory for guzz, but with RK helping out with his tutoring, you can't count him out.
EDGE: Chicago 85' Bears
Defense:
The Maine defense is led by jackson55555, who is coming off of a terrific stand against the Short Bus Window Lickers. He had one of the best Ds in gold this season and has for the past couple of seasons. A mixture of 3-4 and 4-3 anchors this powerhouse defense. The bears' D is led by Gerr, the defensive guru that has posted a top 5 defense for the past 6 or so seasons. His defense was struggling earlier in the season but the Bears got hot at the right time, with 4 straight great defensive performances. It is clear that gerr is extra-motivated for the playoffs and I expect him to post another great performance. This is uncharted territory for both DCs, should be interesting to see which shows more poise.
EDGE: Chicago 85' Bears
Offensive Builds:
It's little known how good of a builder Bevo and chiwanna are. Their builds cater perfect to the pump fake and catch fake offense that Bevo runs, and the offensive line gives very good protection against DL players, that will be the biggest key in the game. The Maine QBs can take it to the air, with a lot of strength they can fire the ball down field and the WRs catch anything in single coverage. Gerr better find a way to get the receivers and backs double covered or it could be a long day for the bears.
EDGE: Chicago 85' Bears
Defensive Builds:
McCollums has been working with Maine for two straight seasons, it isn't exactly a coincidence that the Grenadiers have posted two straight championship game runs. Mccollums' DEs get a hurry on every play, and they make it virtually impossible for any play to progress, Bevo better find a way to get to the receivers early in the progressions. The Bears are a well built team, but have no standouts except for two amazing safeties ()
EDGE: Maine Grenadiers
Special Teams:
It's been ages since a team has scored on the Grenadiers through special teams, and on every possession they get great field position because of it. It is tough to beat them through the kicking and punting games. Their STs are run by SHINK who has done a great job all season. The Bears' ST is anchored by three STOPs that help in every which way, they have been very viable in the return games.
EDGE: Maine Grenadiers
Intangibles:
There is some fire in between these two teams, it was this time last season that Bevo, playing with the UT Pimps were embarrassed in the championship game, not scoring an offensive touchdown, Bevo will come out motivated today and looking to get the win. Gerr had never made it out of the second round before this season, but showed no nerves in the first three games of this postseason. It's possible they show up here, but who knows, this is PW dotball. Then come the defending champion Maine Grenadiers, who have showed that seeding means nothing...going from a 3-3 start back into the championship game, the experience will help with the guru RK lurking in the back.
EDGE: Maine Grenadiers
Overall:
The above categories are 3-3...all equally as important, this is shaping up to become a dogfight and a great game going down to the wire. This will be a game decided by an ST score or a D score. Maine boasts the best CBs in PW...delivering pick sixes galore, my guess is that we get one here, and it may be enough to push the Grenadiers over the top. Maybe we see an 80 yard touchdown off of a pump fake for the bears? Who knows, this is the championship game, where champions are made
EDGE: Chicago 85' Bears 27-24
With history on their side (no team has ever won 2 championships), the Bears will bring the trophy to the windy city, and after 8 seasons of dominant regular seasons, Gerr gets his trophy
Good luck to both teams!!! GO PEE WEE GOLD!
