The RI looks to be blitzing, but stops suddenly 8 clicks in and remains frozen for 50 clicks. He then begins moving again.

Was he set to spy the QB?

Causal league, so no DAI.

Sure looks like a bug to me.

RI is man on man with the HB, HB was held back to pass block instead of route run

Both the FB and HB held back to pass block, both ILB's on man, waiting, doing their job if theirs movement

I was actually going to add before you posted - what's the last option then for the RILB in that play if the HB doesn't come out? Is he supposed to blitz or be in zone?

Because if it's zone - that could actually explain why the RILB looked to be frozen. I've seen dots before that had basically nothing in Zone Focus SA and be in zone and just freeze up.

Looks like if you set your defense to 100% man coverage that this is what will happen especially if the RB/FB stay in to block. There's no secondary option like in a DPC play so they just end up standing there.

Waiting to confirm some tactics with Nightfall now, once I hear back I'll get a determination.

I changed the settings to 99% Man 1% zone and it happened again.

The HB & FB are held back to block and the RI & LI both freeze near the LOS.

I probably confused you with my zone explanation - disregard that as that's more for a non-casual team. Since your squad is casual it throws that idea out the window.

Basically if you're in high Man % for defense - that's what you'll see if the RB/FB doesn't come out - now ideally you'd want the LB's to double someone else in man coverage but it doesn't seem that it happens like that in casual defenses.

I was not confused, but it looks like you were. Basic defense does not mix man and zone under coverage on the same play. The players either go one way or the other. Your bringing in the 100% Man setting only matters if there is a bug that is stopping the players from going to a zone as they would in a DAI when the player they are covering is held back as a blocker. Otherwise it does not matter what the actual % of man coverage is. I could have a 75% Zone 25% Man setting and still see a frozen LB if they happen to be playing Man that play and the backs are blocking. It would just be less likely to occur.

This looks a lot like a thread we had come through here a while back with the safeties dropping vertically then freezing. I'm almost positive they were QB spy so this would be different, unless you have it set up to allow him to QB spy on %.
