I see this happen every once in a while, and it just bugs me.

Step 1: LG knocks the stuffing out of the DT
Step 2: LG tries to find someone else to hit
Step 3: FB sees the opening and goes for it, but is not fast enough
Step 4: DT picks himself up off the ground just as the FB turns into him
Step 5: FB doesn't have the time or ability to adjust
Step 6: DT gets the easy tackle

Luckily it seems to happen more often when you have the opponent overpowered, so it is a game you are probably winning anyways.

Yep recent game the entire O-line seemed to pancake the D-line run on to block the LB's only for the D-line to get up and tackle the HB coming through. Doh!

will try and find the replay

thanks for clearing that up. nice explanation. here's another one:

lvl 17 mlb comes through virtually untouched. lvl 19 C. this looks like the interior OL is simply outnumbered. is it a vision problem for the C (would a higher vision C release the NT to chip the MLB?), some other problem, or simply a good playcall by the D?

This one is more complicated. I don't have an adequate explanation of why this happens or how to prevent it. But here's my walkthrough of the play.

Step 1: ROT drops back off the line (?)
Step 2: RG steps outside to block the LE (??)
Step 3: C blocks the NT
Step 4: MLB charges down the middle
Step 5: C is unable to block MLB as doing so would release the NT, as RG is out of position to block NT

It is possible that increased vision would help prevent this. I can't see the stats on your line, but it wouldn't surprise me if one or more had vision less than 20.

I have also read some theories that this is a 'stealth' blitz play (no search can't find the thread). Some people stated that they saw this D play even with 0 blitz percentage. If this play isn't considered a blitz then the offense would have no way to read it, pretty much regardless of vision stats.

To be honest, on this play I'm more concerned with the LDE. He walks right by the HB and LOT pretty much unopposed.
