The Pelicans took a 35-3 lead into halftime and Stu had no answer for the juggernaut. The Pelicans were led again by -=Champ=- Courtney Roby who returned a punt mid-way through the first quarter that probably sealed Algoma's fate. -=Champ=- Pierre Thomas bruised his way to 4 TD's on 41 yards rushing and -=Champ=- Robert Meachum had another big game racking up 170 yards and a TD with 7 catches. #2 Texas Lone Stars(8-0)-The Lone Stars go into the #5 Doinitin Djibout(6-2) house and come away with a victory extending their winning streak to 8 games. The #2 Lone Stars took a 13-7 lead into halftime and then extended that lead to 23-7 after 3 quarters capped by a 4 yard TD run by Whodey just ran by you! Following that run, Doinitin was unable to recover, especially after Liquid Foot returned a punt 74 yards for a TD early in the 4th quarter. Texas was led on offense by Cole Smith who finished with 89 total yards and a TD. On defense, Porter Colarossi had another big game racking up 6 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 hurries. The Lone Stars will travel to face the Windsor Nobles(3-5) on Sunday trying to extend their winning streak.
#3 Village Dogs(6-2)-The Village Dogs move up to #4 in the poll after winning a close one against the Canucklehead Brigade(1-7), 14-13. This was a battle through 4 quarters. The Dogs got it going early scoring a TD on their opening drive, thanks to a big play when Arthur Jackson connected with Mario Henry on a 31 yard pass that led to a 5 yard touchdown pass 2 plays later by the same duo. The Brigade defense settled down and the offense slowly chipped way at the lead and heading into the 4th quarter the Village Dogs only held on to a slim 7-6 lead. In the 4th quarter, The Dogs put together a long 7 minute drive that culminated in a 1 yard TD run by combo back giving them a 14-6 lead. The Brigade made it interesting when 2 plays later Dave "Mary Jane" Chappelle connected with Just another Brigade weapon! on a 66 yard TD pass closing the gap to 14-13, but that was all she wrote as the Brigade failed to capitalize on their last drive. #4-L.A. Halos(6-2)-The Halos escape with a win where they couldn't do anything vs. the World Legends(4-4) who forced 5 fumbles,4 sacks, and a pick. The only reason the Halos won was due to the Legends going for it on 4th down most of the game. The Halos offense was shutdown for 126 total yards and they were dominated in time of possession.The Halos were led by on defense by Browbeater who finished with 5 tackles and 2 forced fumbles and on offense kicker Divine Shot converted on 3 field goals. #6 Czech Yourself(8-0)-Czech Yourself extends their winning streak to 28 games and moves up to #6 in the poll.Czech rolled all over the Red Fort Royals(2-6) in dominating fashion crushing them, 98-10. This contest was never in doubt as Czech got it rolling early carrying a 28-10 lead into halftime. In the 2nd half Czech completely shut down the Royals and scored 70 unanswered 2nd half points. Tradewest went into the locker room at halftime with a 13-10 lead, and both teams traded 3rd quarter touchdowns bringing the score to 20-17 to start the 4th. In the 4th, Mayan took the lead 24-20 after a 2 yard TD run by Coldplay Don't Panic, made possible when Coolhand Luke set up the touchdown with a 37 yard scamper. Then on the next possession Tradewest was forced to punt and Dick Doomsday put a nail in the coffin when he returned that punt 80 yards for a TD giving the Prophecy a 31-20 lead. The Storm got to work early, and often as they scored 24 first quarter points, capped by two punt returns by Winter Solstice, for 63 yards, and 66 yards. This was never a contest after those demoralizing returns and Osaka never looked back as they shut out the Nobles in the 2nd half. On offense Osaka was led by Santonio, Holmes who had 3 receptions for 102 yards and Elvis Jr. (Jr.) rushed for 133 yards and 2 TD's. On defense, I is Special racked up 8 tackles in the win. The Legends defense was spectacular in this game harassing the Halos QB's, and they forced 5 fumbles, 4 sacks, and a pick.
