Why does the LOLB and LDE, but primarily the LOLB since the LDE is engaged, seem to walk the first 6 seconds of the play, and THEN start to move at their normal speed?

That's a good question. This looks pretty buggy.

We'll need more examples to verify it though.

I've been waiting for this for a while now. I stopped looking for replays a while ago, you can usually look at any (edit: game with pitches).
My hypothesis is that it has to do with speed along a curve, and problems with pursuit angles.

While players are in the backfield, a defender will go for the most direct point of attack (see FS in replay below):

I think that when the players are already in the backfield, this (2nd edit to remove insult) pathing has the defenders slow down as the HB slows down

Here are my posts from MY bugs forum.

What's with the pursuit angle by the CBs? http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=1570985&pbp_id=12057319 (okay not a pitch play, but a slowdown while the HB is on a curve)

It happens on more plays than the ones provided, I just focused on finding the ones that appear the most obvious.
Here's another one where the SS is "slowed down" while the HB makes his turn around the WR, but it's harder to tell because the SS never gets to speed back up.

Speeds up as the HB speeds up.
He shouldn't be following him around that curve, he just be trying to head him off and start sprinting right away, not slowly going around the curve.

They are hung up on each other. I have been seeing this more and more lately.

From strom's post..

I find this replay the only one which really shows the issue from the OP.

This. They seem to be running over each other. There was a thread on this same issue last week i think. Let me look for it but i think this is a duplicate thread.

OK found it. Looks to be the same issue as this thread.

OK, i got clarification on this issue. For now this is a WORKING AS INTENDED situation. Bort is working on some things that relate to QB spy and should help this issue.

So what Bort is saying is that only QB spies can tell if a QB is running before he gets to the LoS, even if it is an obvious outside QB run?
At the very least OLBs or typically a SS not covering a potential receiver (and typically with vision well above what would be considered sufficient) should be able to notice a QB run before he get to the LoS..... especially in casual where you can't directly attack outside rushes with a given player or players.

That thread and this thread have nothing to do with each other.

And if this thread ends with, 'Working as Intended" than intended is pretty lame.

The LOLB and LDE are literally at half speed the first 6 seconds of the play, then once the HB is down field running for daylight, the two defenders start to run full speed?

I think this is different from that.

Seems the players in these two links are slowed immensely to compensate for the speed of the ball carrier.

That's another good example.

I think there is something going on here..
