I have kept a close eye on Alpha conference since I received a team. I know it is early but I thought I would post a few thoughts. It seems to me that Alpha is a 5 horse race right now. The 5 top teams already have a 2 or 3 game lead on the rest of the conference and have only lost to each other. 3 other teams are obviously going to make the playoffs and that should be an interesting race in and of it self. Another team may still emerge as a dominant force but they would probably have to boost and custom gear up to do so. The competition 1-5 is very stiff and a team that wins 13 games could easily come in 5th and not even get one home game in the playoffs. That seems a bit ridiculous to me. Moreover, the 4-5 playoff game could be one of the best first round matches around. I know I am hoping for home field all the way through the playoffs, but the more I watch/learn about my opponents the less likely it seems. I am not sure what will happen over the next few weeks, but I really hope I do not fall in the 4 or 5 hole because I do not want to play 3 games against the top 5 teams to get to a championship.

Noted. I already made a post that our team has to win all of the games were supposed to if we want to make the playoffs. 5-8 is going to be tough. the 8th seed is going to have to win 9 games. no 8-8 teams are making it to the playoffs.
Good luck to everyone, it will not be easy.

So, are you supposed to beat the Singapore Sylvans? Just curious, because that's a matchup I feel will be very close

It should a be tight race for the playoffs, for the non-undefeated teams. (Come playoff time... anything can happen.)
We probably could have a better record if we had either been more active in signing random players, or if we brought down some of our own higher level players with contacts that ended last season (but this was our choice not to and I won't judge anyone else for doing so or not), but we still have some tricks up our sleeve before the end of the trade deadline and off-season.
Really, after being on a few other teams with random drama and horrid owners/GMs, SFS is basically a safe-haven for our agents who all knew each other (and knew we'd work well together) and wanted to leave the BS politics to other people (as well as serving as a home for our eventual higher level team's replacements to have newer players rotated into). Our main goal is to remain competitive, win or lose. (Gotta have that fan support.)
Frankly, I don't mind the losses that we've had that much (so far), as they haven't been complete blow-outs and they were both vs undefeated (and still undefeated) teams with some levels on us. Don't get me wrong, there's never any situation where I'd be so arrogant to predict or guaranty a win or loss... but we definitely review game replays and try and exploit whatever weaknesses we see. All I ask of my players is that we plan hard and play hard, learn from our mistakes, and use what we know to give us whatever advantage we can find (within the scope of the current roster - this season).
I'm looking forward to seeing how the end of the season/post-season/playoffs shapes up, and what the conference looks like next season, after each team has made their moves and the 2 best teams move up and each team has had some time to readjust and build new stadium sections and has more capital to work with.

I for one think you guys,SFS, have an excellent team and it appears that you will stay together and be competitive in this league and maybe even AAA for seasons to come. Good luck over the rest of the season.
If you would not mind sending me a PM some time I would like to know what you thought the exploitable holes on our team are. I completely understand if you would rather not divulge that information though.
