Strength, Blocking, and Stamina?

Is that it? Does anything else matter? Ive heard vision from a few places but then Ive seen so many high level OT with tons of pancakes have next to no vision. Whats the deal?

Pancakes are the only stat shown but not the most important thing for OTs.

OTs are there to protect the QB from outside blitzes, and to help cover outside runs (which hardly ever works). So, vision and agility are more important to OTs than to other O-Lines. However; strength blocking and stamina will be the core of all O-Line players.

Yea OTs do have a special set of skills that is different than the interior linemen. Tackles need to block defensive ends, and everyone knows what defensive end builds look like... a lot of strength, speed, agility, vision, and tackling. Make sure you are able to block these guys because many have over 50 strength and speed with plenty of agility. OTs don't need to move as far or fast, but they can't be statues.

How can vision help an OT? It seems like all they have to do is line up and lock on to the man in front of them. Im looking at alot of builds and most are just stacked at stamina, blocking, and strength. There has to be more to it than this.

I'm no great shakes at building OTs, but here's mine (lvl 17):

Strength: 58.4 Blocking: 51.89
Speed: 19.2 Tackling: 18
Agility: 31.4 Throwing: 9
Jumping: 8 Catching: 9
Stamina: 34.58 Carrying: 7
Vision: 27.31 Kicking: 9
Confidence: 25.35 Punting: 7

1,2,2,2,0
0,0,0,0,0

Now, I'll be honest, his blocking should really be higher, but he's a bit of a salvage job. Apart from that, I'm pretty happy with the rest of his build. Only two of the stats count as "stacked". If a third one were to be upped to the level of his blocking and strength, it would be agility, rather than stamina.

You need the vision to block the blitzes and open up holes.
